This saga gets stranger and stranger...

I went out to the section of the Mason's property where the cemetery owned by the Watchtower is located and unfortunately, it was covered with snow so I may not have seen as many gravesites as there may have been.

(I MUST ADD THAT THIS WAS WITH PERMISSION. THERE ARE NO TRESSPASSING SIGNS THAT SURROUND THE CEMETERY BUT THEY ARE POSTED BY THE OWNER OF THE ADJOINED PROPERTY.) The adjoined property owner believed the cemetery contained the remains of African-American soldiers.

I took pictures of the gravesites I could see and except for the women, they appeared to ALL have been ...military soldiers?!? I am also looking for an ancestor who may have been caught up in the WT movement and to my knowledge, he was never in the military.

WHY would the WTS own a burial plot in its own name (as opposed to a front name such as "United Cemeteries") containing African-American soldiers? Is "United Cemeteries" still owned by the WTS? If so, you guys have a lot more real estate to talk about! *grin*

I can't vouch for the validity of this site but I certainly have a copy of a deed recorded in 1922 validating the claims about the three cemeteries being owned by the WTS! (http://jwdivorces.bravehost.com/russell.html)

I have work to do tonight so I'm not ignoring anyone if they have something to add... this stuff is giving me a headache.

GOOD MORNING, CLARITY! :)

I've read quite a bit, but interestingly, I've found nothing that specifically states where he was buried. I've read about unmarked graves and fires that destroyed records of the unmarked graves (idiots), a woman who claims to have seen the grave (if it's unmarked, then how'd she know?), and that there were only 4 people in attendance (uh, YOU BURY YOUR PRESIDENT AT YOUR OFFICE HEADQUARTERS AND ONLY FOUR PEOPLE ATTEND???).

I'm wondering if anyone has a collective set of WT quotes that cryptically mention Rutherford's mysterious rat death and burial. I'm making a set (as best I can...)

Many of you have more access to information. As a non-JW, I'm limited to the internet.

If failing to forgive is acknowledged by Paul as one of Satan's schemes (2 Cor 2:11), what's up with the practice of disfellowshipping?
There are committees of oversight called Judicial Conduct Committees for judges. Do you have the same for judicial committees that fail to act in accordance with the Scriptures? If not, why not? OH! Because you have a legal department to determine wrongness - sorry... forgot about that. Worldly judges need oversight, Elders have the WTBTS LEGAL EAGLES..
Literature such as the "Aid to Bible Understanding" acknowledge that the name "Jehovah" was made up in 1270 by a Roman Catholic monk so why does your organization continue to perpetuate a lie of "Jehovah" being God's personal name when they know it's not?
According to WT theology, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and a host of other prophets are going to be resurrected and live on Earth. Are you telling me that the annointed in YOUR organization, folks who you see partaking in your congregations, are MORE WORTHY to be with God than HIS OWN SELF-SELECTED PROPHETS???

The last two send me reeling.

I LOVE this and I'm proud of you for being brave enough to expose yourself to something new. Trinitarian here... born-in.

I grew up being told they all have different parts right and wrong. Yes, both. Confused yet? Don't be. If you believe a little differently? It's okay... Nobody goes to argue doctrinal differences, they go to hear a gospel. If you don't agree with the gospel you hear, you can find a different one if you'd like from a different denomination... or not.

What happens when he and I have theological differences?

Nothing. You just have theological differences. He or she may welcome your questions/thoughts. We can all learn from someone. If it's a doctrine that rubs sandpaper across your eardrums, you can choose to continue going for the parts you do agree with or you can choose not to go. People will still say hi to you when you go to the grocery store and include you in invitations to gather with them. If you don't show up, they'll either figure you're not into their church (which is fine) or that you were a visitor (which is fine). Your relationship with God is about you and He. Not you, He and every Tom, Dick and Harry sitting next to you. :)

What conflict of interest resolutions will he accept?

I'm not sure I understand this. Are you asking if he'll change his methodologies based on your assertions? If so, uh.. probably not. Most people just switch denominations to ones that fit their models. No questions asked.

Membership requirements.

You are adorable. Uh... how about, "come in peace as often as you like." How about that one?

What path must I exercise to reach God?

Depends on her church on this one. I can assure you, the path will be nominal compared to where you've been.

hello everyone, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.. i am a mid 30's just stepped aside elder, who just couldn't handle it anymore.. i am a 3rd generation born-in and former pioneer and bethelite.

it has been a log somewhat confusing ride for me, but i am finally settling in to realizing that i need to really look at what me and my family are doing.. .

its funny though what really got me here... it wasn't the 40 year old men telling me they were looking at boobies on the computer and hoping not to get in trouble, it wasn't the watching young people bail left and right, it wasn't the ever changing new light etc... but a simple thought.. .

I told one of them that I need a nice vacation to Beth Sarim and he was like, "yeah that would be nice".

It would have been really cool if he would have responded, "Beth Shan for me - tighter security there." *giggling*

i'm a new member & i'd like to say hi to everyone, intoducing myself.. i am a 3rd generation born-in at mid 50's & an active elder.. english is not my mother language, so pls ignore any grammatical errors.

i live in a small country in europe.. i'd like to thank you for all information posted.

some of them have rally helped me to understand and examine again my beliefs.. last new light concerning f&ds=gb has verified the idea that they are popes in the position op pope.. i still believe in god & in his son jesus christ but not in the gb..
