Thanks for your input ROOM215, you have a good point, however I live 2 hours away from my ex KH ( Step father attends that one ) He is in town for the day so I assume it would have been too short of notice to ask an elder to come.. He did ask me, so perhaps he is trying to make effort not to entirely shun me, especially after these terrible shunning talks. My hope is that one day he will wake up.

Lunch today with.. JW step father....
by raven init has been a while since i've posted, i think its because i have finally gotten some peace and quiet as far as harassment from the jw elders.. my step father, the one who reported me to the elder police for a sinful act invited me to lunch today.. it has been almost a year since the incident, we have talked here and there, it has been just casual though.
he says he is in town for work and asked if i would like to meet up for lunch, i couldn't think of any excuses so i agreed.. i hope it goes well, hope that we don't go into the jw nonsense.
hope he doesn't bring elders with him, am i paranoid or what?

Who knows, maybe it will be nice, we can talk about things other than JW- I feel as though that would be difficult since JW's seem to only ever want to talk about almighty Jehovah.. I am ranting at this point. Just thought I'd share with you all.. If any of you have gotten together with a JW relative after exiting, how did it go?
I'll send an update after lunch.

How many times did you see a JW start a business
by karter inwith the intention of spending less time working and more time in f.s i saw this many times.
an ex c.o started a carpet cleaning business with the charter being spending less time working more time in f.s.
he has long since passed away and the company is now huge being the major player in flood resteration and employing 100's of people one of the owners i spoke to recently was sick due to using to many chemicals but carries on becouse he loves the money even though he's worth millions.

Ah yes,
I knew two elders who started a business.. One had the idea and created it, the other elder was a partner in it.. These two ended up making big bucks with their shoelace invention. Eventually one elder and his family moved out of their 3 bedroom 1 bath into a 6 bedroom 5 bath home up in the mountains.. It was extremely lavish. The other elder also got a new home, except this one came with an elevator.. Ha, and these same elders were giving talks about simplicity and giving more to the org. Eventually they had a falling out over the business, one elder who was actually the KOBE at the time was removed from his position, he ended up standing up during the announcement of his removal, gathered his family and stormed out of the KH.. To date, the shoelace biz is still around...

"We Had No Idea How Manipulative He Can Be!"
by pale.emperor invery stressfull and upsetting evening was had last night.
i dropped my 2yo daughter off to my ex-wifes home.
all seemed good until i got home.

Terrible terrible!! Pale, lawyer up at all costs, your ex is a looney toon and the elders are only getting started with harassment based on your daughters claim.. Evil, they shouldn't have ever asked a 2yr old baby about this. I am positive your ex put that thought into her innocent mind.

Anthony Morris Made a special appearance on JW Broadcasting to talk child abuse.
by NikL injust popped on to see if december broadcast was up and it's not.. however, there is a new vid of bro.
morris addressing child abuse within the org.. https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodstudio/pub-jwban_201507_2_video.

raven
NikL you are right- It is an old video, however they put it back up in the forefront of their website so many people could just now be seeing it too... He's just casually speaking out about how terrible child abuse is, he doesn't mention though that a vast number of his own followers are pedophiles.

Was kidnap victim Sherri Papini a JW?
by NikL insherri papini is that woman kidnapped in california and released on thanksgiving day making the news right now.. during one of the reports this morning on the today show there was a quick scene of an investigation going on at a kingdom hall.
there was crime tape up and everything.
credit goes to my wife for catching it.. i just wondered why the kingdom hall was a crime scene when she was abducted and released somewhere else?anybody else catch this?.

Yes Bill, but her husband seems awfully eager to release interviews, set up a gofundme page for $$.. Just doesn't sit well with me.

This story gets weirder and weirder each day... Am I not the only one who thinks something seems terribly off? I had read that she had also faked an abduction back in 2006.. Just seems as though an abductor wouldn't just let their victim free after weeks of holding them captive to suposedly repeated beatings, even shaving their head to wander out on the streets? As for the JW reference, I don't think she was one. Maybe like others have noted, just happened to go to the KH to see if anyone was there to help her?

Nicolas King: JW celebrity and example of hypocrisy
by neat blue dog innicolas king frequently sings with the watchtower chorus and had a supporting role in the dvd released at the 2014 convention.
(he's on the bottom row, second from the right.).
but he also is a jazz singer, traveling constantly performing at concerts, casinos, charity events, even a brief appearance on the tonight show.

raven
Good point neat blue dog!! WT full of hypocrisy.. they'll come up with some excuse as to why Nikolas is allowed to peruse his singing and show biz careers.. but maybe he's backed up by WT because he is featured in so many of their videos and songs??

Shunning vs. Silent Treatment
by raven ini was thinking this morning in context with the shunning practice- which we all know is a degrading and abusive routine carried out among all brainwashed jw's to those who have sinned/left the org etc.. so with that in mind, how does shunning differ from the silent treatment to jw's?
both are similar in definition... silent treatment.
: an act of completely ignoring a person or thing by resort to silence especially as a means of expressing contempt or disapproval.shun, shunning: persistently avoid, ignore, or reject (someone or something) through antipathy or caution.based on jw teachings which i stupidly accepted back when i was asleep and under mind control, i didn't give it two thoughts on how both acts are related.. i do remember an article in a wt which spoke of how the silent treatment is a harsh and abusive form of discipline, but then they twist it back and claim that shunning is a loving provision?

YODASTAR-
Great input, your comment is so exact to reality, its so hard to try to rid of these insane doctrines and manipulation the org pushed on us some at a very young age.. I was hearing these things at around 4 years old, so growing up brainwashed I didn't think twice about the org and what/who they really are. Thank goodness we have all woken up to the ttatt, such a twisted demonic group.
STUCKINARUT2-
Wow really? I vaguely remember the cartoon, maybe we can find the link on YouTube? The org is one big bully, they all claim they're full of love but when someone actually starts independently thinking they'll kick on the avoidance.. JW's have this mentality that they're better than everyone, and the org states that haughtiness is a sin in itself.. This whole group is full of contradictions and hypocrisy, so glad to be out.

My Favouite Inappropriate Watchtower Pictures
by pale.emperor ini'd love to see you're favorite wt illustrations/photo's that they think are fine to print - but are actually kind of creepy/wierd.. .
here's my three fave from my book of bible stories (yes, a book for children!)..
man gets his head nailed into the floor with a tent pin by a good jehovah worshipper:.

Very interesting - your interpretation of these pictures.. It's crazy how JW's are so influenced by this artwork but at the same time I do agree with you on how hypocritical every JW is.. No violent comics, books, movies etc... And these pictures depict murder. Ah how ironic.
