llamalcool: I'm in with that bet...I know that they are not deaf...You seem to know Patterson. Worked there? I did a job that put me in contact with the translation teams. Actually I started working on some IT stuff BEFORE the Sign Language stuff took off (Colombia and Brazil where BIG on promoting Sign Language Videos, Brooklyn was blocking things, they even didn't wanted to have in house Signers. They have not made up their minds and I think they should leave as their own decision, not because I'm outing them here.

So, yes Paulapollos, you are right in saying that the deaf community is being used. I hear and KNOW what you are saying. This really pissed me off when I was working at Bethel!

Cedars, I have thought about this too. On the other hand, zealots would quickly call Crooklyn and report. This has gained too much traction to be unnoticed, it is on Russian, Finnish, Danish, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Brazilian and also on US websites. In different forms and shapes. There are some faithful Witnesses on a Brazilian website threatening the web master to leave the site in droves if he doesn't pull it down (a comedy website). LOL at that one. Someone would sure enought call the Crooks in Brooklyn.

I am wondering if this has created a different problem for them and they are scratching their heads on what they should do. It is part of their own website. If they pull it out of Youtube, someone else will go onto the JW.org website and download it again.

I can imagine that they will re-do the complete damn thing and put an updated, more soft core version (no pun intended :-D online again. This is the only possible solution. In other cases it was ex-JW putting stuff online. This time it's the public, the very same group of people they are targeting.

Maybe they are only enjoying the many hits and free publicity and web traffic. If I where them, I would put ads on JW.org ASAP (Lubes and Fleshlights come to mind.....oops, no. Bibles)

i'll bet they didn't sign up for this kind of attention.. it reminds me of an article wired magazine did on youtube a couple years ago about people that had their careers or social life ruined by a viral youtube video.. anyway, it would be interesting to find out who these guys are and what may or may not end up happening with them over this..

but now you're just arguing for arguments sake against anyone because of your personal sensibilities to this subject.

I feel sorry if this two get mocked at the supermarket. BUT, lets see ALL perspectives and angles here, not only OMFG, DEAF, YOU'R ALL GOIN TO HELL.

I don't care if they where deaf AND in a wheelchair, they are being used BY the Society to control and mess with other peoples lifes! In this case deaf people. From my experience they have more difficulties to relate to other people (if they are not tied into a strong deaf community) and therefore have even more tendency to masturbate (as I've said before, I have worked with deaf persons and will not tell you why and where). It is their OWN RIGHT to do so and NO: Bronze-age-invisible Guy will NOT strike them with light and thunder.

Sure enough, I don't know about these two, how fanatic they are into this, but they are being USED by the WT$ which USES DEAF persons to give themselves a "nice guy image" - I will also not tell you how and why I know this, but the great "avalanche" of "OOOHHHH, we should help the deaf" came after they noticed that this is not only a good publicity stunt but also a good economical move. I will leave it there for you on how they figured out how to make more moolah thanks to this.

To use your skewed logical thinking here, King Solomon, let me be skewed and crazy as well: I DON'T CARE IF SOMEONE IS DEAF, if Hitler used deaf spokespersons to rally for his party, than it would still be wrong, the message would still be shitty and the background evil. No matter how many disabled persons where used.

Next point: I sure as hell hope that they stop producing videos in any sign language and that the current group of interpreters start dropping like flies on a hot summer day!

Last, but not least: FUCK DMCA, FUCK the Watchtower. Both use their existance to oppress others. DMCA is all "nice and dandy" if it serves big corporate interests, never to protect the small guy (and I refer especially to small artists, singers, etc.).

Also: stop treating deaf persons like "special groups" or like some "weird animals", because that is how it sounds in your writings. They are humans, that can't hear. That's it. They also like to be treated as such - equals. So, talk, help make fun, as you would with any other person.
