Iv never used art for anything more then making a living. I worked out my dark side years ago with the traditional stuff like booze, sex and drugs. Now I just drink a little from time to time. I’m still a little too sane to do really dark stuff like a painting with a big foot crushing the head of a talking snake, but I’m trying. Maybe I shouldn’t have thrown out all my watchtower crap. Now that shit has some spooky art.

Bite me with the “sir” stuff! I’m always around I just don’t have much to say anymore. Too many new people and my old friends here have either found Jesus or forgot how to type, or both. I have never learned the little smiley face language so I don’t know if you are being sarcastic or not. Judging from the art forum I post on once in a while my work is overboard on the dark side. I can’t bring myself to doing a vase with flowers or big-eyed puppies like most of them. I think I need Jesus.

I use to paint years ago, Iv had work in a few art books and magazines. Now I’m all digital. Less mess to clean up and trying to stay up with the cutting edge stuff.
Yes, I have had a few giclees printed. I am waiting to get a larger body of work done before I get serious about printing and selling. Right now I am going to try and get through this dark side stuff and make a few art fanatics happy. Then I’ll get back to the nudes. It’s not as easy to get the girl next door to get naked and let me shoot photos of her as it use to be.
Maybe I should do landscapes, it’s a bitch getting old.

I haven’t posted much lately because…well just because. In the past year I have tried
to start my conversion from commercial art to fine art doing mostly nudes. I have done fine art off and on my whole life but have never really had my heart or mind into it. It’s just something I could always do and took for granted like walking and talking. I have never been emotionally attached to my art like most artist seem to be.
A well known and successful artist friend of mine (who I have always driven crazy with my lack of passion for art) has always told me I would never take my art seriously, or have any passion for it until I worked out my dark side with my art. I didn’t even notice I had a dark side until I started posting on ex-JW sites like this one. Dammed if I didn’t have one. Big surprise to me! Not such a big surprise to everyone else.
I am pretty sure I have worked it out with some of my posts on these sites as well as spending some time with a few of you crazy but wonderful people. I think I’m fairly well adjusted to it all now…with just a few loose ends. One being my art. So, I thought I would take my friends advice and see if a dark side would come out in my art. Here is the first of several more to come where I am expressing it artistically. Iv wanted to do this image for a long time. I just thought it was a little too… well, dark. It’s how I felt growing up as a JW kid.
I don’t think I’m the only one on this board who may have felt this way once they got out. Some of you may not like it, but at least you might understand it.

D'Fing and Love
by I-CH-TH-U-S ini once talked to a jw about disfellowshipping and was curious to how can this be showing a christly love when you all out turn your back on them.
he gave me an answer about rightousness and unrightrousness having no fellowship (which is biblical) but it didnt make sense to me.
didnt seem applicable in many ways.

Dfing is a great measuring device to see how deeply a person is brainwashed. The watchtower company (like all cults) needs to have some device to gage the gullibility of those who have bought into the whole scam. It is just a byproduct of ones acceptance of everything a cult has redefined as their version of the truth. All cults redefine concepts of things such as love, loyalty, and social acceptance, to fit their own agenda orientated interpretation. Once you have redefined the concept of something like” love” and convinced your followers into a group way of thinking and acceptance, you can redefine anything you want and have them buy it hook line and sinker.(ie. the average JW accepting that it was their fault for misinterpreting what the watchtower said repeatable about 1975) The word love is then thought of in terms the cult has redefined it as and it becomes accepted in it’s new meaning by those who would rather have others define and think for them, as opposed to an individual thinking for themselves.
This process is first implemented into ones way of thinking by convincing a person that they do not, and should not, have the ability to think for themselves. Scriptures from a several thousand-year-old text are then shown, adjusted to fit their specific agenda, and then given as proof to back up this interpretation. Since the one being convinced is already in the “group think” mode, he/she accepts this redefinition and interpretation from the person that they “think” knows more about the subject then they do.
Step by step and inch by inch things are redefined and adjusted to fit what the one who is coming off like they know what they are talking about and accepted by those who have no clue or desire to find out things for themselves.
Redefining words and concepts are the ultimate key to the success of any cult. Those who are either too lazy or too feeble of mind to think for themselves slip easily into the control of the cult leaders. They are defined by their cult leaders in what seems to be a positive light as the “meek, the humble, and the teachable. Once a person accepts that lower position in life as nothing more than a biological hard drive, they simply take on more information and process it the way they have been programed to do.
This is why JW’s and those who think that particular cult has “the truth” see disfellowshipping as an act of love. The word love has been redefined to the point where being shunned and rejected by your family and friends is normal to those who are totally brainwashed. The concept of what is, or is not, “normal” is also redefined by the cult and accepted by those who have given up their ability to think for themselves to the cult. People do this because it is a lot easier to have someone else think for them and define things that they do not give themselves credit enough for to define themselves. They snuggle comfortably into your position of being meek, humble and teachable and let others do the hard work.
Extreme examples of the level of acceptance of things redefined are, the unquestionable drinking of poisoned kool aid at Jonestown, watching their children die in the fire at Waco, slipping under the sheets to go meet the space ship at Heavens gate, and watching your child, sibling or parent die for refusing a blood transfusion. They all think they were right because they were programmed to think they were right and accepted the redefinitions and interpretations of those who they had surrendered their ability to think for themselves, to.
So is disfellowshipping an act of love? To the cult programed JW mind, it is. -

Having a hard time tonight
by onesong init's been 2 months since i was df'd and 4 months since i've talked to anyone in my family.
for the most part i'm doing real well but every now and then it catches up with me.
ran into my dad today and when i tried to say hi he could only ignore me.. i think the pain and hurt i feel now is more for him, he's in his own world of misery and doesn't even know it.. anyway, i'm a little drunk and depressed and just felt like getting it off my chest.. hope this doesn't bring anyone else down.. namaste'

Do jw youths understand
by carla indo jw youths understand that if they just didn't get baptized their parents would not be able to shun them later?
they must be able to see how this works in other families.
is it feasable for a jw teen to reject baptism?
