  Romans 6:7 - What Does It Really Mean?

  the convoluted jw interpretation of romans 6:7 just does not make any kind of sense at all.

  after careful consideration of the scriptutre within its context i have to ask myself why i never noticed the inconsistency in the various wt publications.

  i would really love to hear from some of the more outspoken jw apologists who frequent this board because they have proven that they can think for themselves and may have recieved some new light on the subject that they'll be willing to share with the rest of us.

  What paul is saying is when a person dies, they sin now more. They can’t sell crack or make porn movies or whatever because they are dead. That is kind of the whole idea of being free from sin, the new person in christ, the death of the old man.

  The NWT changes set free from sin to aquitted from sin which changes the context of the verse. It is just just watchtower dishonestly and also leads to suicides.

  This subject is one of major grievances with the borg and which i saw the changes and more importantly context , i was just pissed. Still am.

  We have a crazy in our hall. 40 something , lives in a group home, can’t work because of anger issues , not allowed to own guns . Everyone feels quite creepy around him. He attends meetings because he was a born in. He doesn’t do any field service or public talks.

  If he decided to go off the radar , i sure as hell hope no one is going to set up any road blocks to him leaving .

  I don’t care what anyone’s says . Disfellowshipping someone with mental health issues is stupid and dangerous . Now if this guy wasn’t active and they did it to make a point because he wrote his own book instead of the mush he was being feed, this is as much on the WTS as much as the shooter.

  Four weeks ago i could get disfellowship for saying I don’t believe Tony Morris is a spirit anointed channel to god.

  Now he has been fired.

  Imagine spending a life time shunning a loved one because you believed the new convanent was only with 8 men to find out its really the cast of Jersey Shore.

  No words. Shame on anyone who still believes this nonsense .

  If his hall knew he had mental issues and he was inactive , they should have just left him alone.

  So many issues in his stupid cult just revolve half wit narcissists not minding their own business.

  It will be interesting to read his book though. Who would of ever thought a religion crated by a nut job who just has to one up all Christian doctrine would spawn nut jobs who claim to have it all figured out.

  I can almost guarantee that what happened was a couple half wit elders decided to flex with an inactive member. If a couple assholes showed up out of blue and decided to tell my friends and family to stop to stop talking to me, i might lose my shit too .

  Not making excuses for the shooter but i hold the WTS just as responsible as him.

  i have these friends, kind of more friends of friends.

  i believe their 14 year son is going to get baptized this summer.

  he also seems to be quite involved in sports and is a really good athlete.

  I have these friends, kind of more friends of friends. I believe their 14 year son is going to get baptized this summer. He also seems to be quite involved in sports and is a really good athlete. His parents are fairly new to the faith. I don't think the elders have said anything.

  My questions is once he is baptized, how long till the Elders start sticking theirs noses into his business ? Trying to make him quit his Sports teams. What happens if he doesn't listen ? Do you think the elders are waiting for him to get baptized before they say anything ?

  I think they are snakes but what do I know.

  I have always been kind of suspect of him being the " Road to Damascus " member. I really believe his entire motivation was to find an outlet in which he could be the biggest asshole he could be and mess with people lives.

  I suspect he has finally got bored with it and started to screw with the borg.

  Even if he did come out as an apostate, he would still make my skin crawl.
