  dear friends,.

  i think you all know me as a person who has always strived, despite my imperfections to only ever wanting to be and remain in the “truth”.

  it is in fact what i so desperately want for my son ashton and my baby girl honey bee, to be lovers of truth and grow up to be a loyal servants of jehovah god and his son, jesus christ.

  How long till they start messing with you ?

  i have these friends, kind of more friends of friends.

  i believe their 14 year son is going to get baptized this summer.

  he also seems to be quite involved in sports and is a really good athlete.

  I have these friends, kind of more friends of friends. I believe their 14 year son is going to get baptized this summer. He also seems to be quite involved in sports and is a really good athlete. His parents are fairly new to the faith. I don't think the elders have said anything.

  My questions is once he is baptized, how long till the Elders start sticking theirs noses into his business ? Trying to make him quit his Sports teams. What happens if he doesn't listen ? Do you think the elders are waiting for him to get baptized before they say anything ?

  I think they are snakes but what do I know.

  I have always been kind of suspect of him being the " Road to Damascus " member. I really believe his entire motivation was to find an outlet in which he could be the biggest asshole he could be and mess with people lives.

  I suspect he has finally got bored with it and started to screw with the borg.

  Even if he did come out as an apostate, he would still make my skin crawl.

  Two Powers in Heaven

  while this topic might at first seem to come from left field, it has arisen in my mind when reading a number of recent threads.

  this topic in full requires many hours of research to fully assimilate but i'm now only introducing the topic and encouraging further reading.

  in short, by the end of the common era judaism included various heavenly figures that took on roles that, for all practical purposes, were those of god.

  The entire new testament is making reference to weird plurality of god in the old testament.

  God is invisible but seems to appear to people as the word of the lord, angel of the lord, wisdom of the lord, the glory of god. Paul then later takes a bunch of very monolithic quotes from the old testament and makes them instead of just LORD it becomes Jesus and God. Its is like they are expanded.

  Mike Heiser does a great lecture on this subject using that " Two Powers in Heaven " book.

  In in the beginning was the word.....................no one has ever seen god, just the son.

  My watchtower was ended in 56 minutes. Like a kick in the stomach.

  How did you find Jehovah's Witness meetings?

  i personally have only attended a handful of meetings at kingdom halls.

  i did not enjoy any of them nor was i impressed by anything that was conveyed.

  perhaps others did not find them boring as i did.. nadia viotto has this to say about her experience.

  Once I realized not a single person in the Hall could give a brief summary of the Book of Romans or realize the entire gospel of John is about Jesus being the physical manifestion of god in the old testament , the whole thing became thing pointless and laughable.

  about three years ago , there was a son of an elder in my hall ( and i use the term " my hall " in a very loose term ) who committed suicide.

  the guy was real asshole but not one deserves something like that.

The guy was real asshole but not one deserves something like that. I read his sons Obit online. It had his birthday , his baptize day and the rest of the obit is a sales pitch for the WTS. Just gross IMHO.

  My question here is

  A. Is the current WTS teaching a works based salvation in which you never know if you have done enough but if you kill yourself , you get a free trip to paradise ?

  B. This elder hasn't seemed to miss a beat since his sons death. I feel an evil presence when I see him and get knots in my stomach. I just want to call him out , Kick the shit out him...................just do something. You just killed your own child with your stupidity. You go door to door teaching the same nonsense that killed your son. You piece of shit.

  Similarities Between JW's & Mormons

  over the years, i have found it helpful to see the similarites between jw's and mormons to help me understand what happened to me and my family as jw's.

  Both groups try and remove the hinge point of the bible from the anointing work of Jesus dying on the cross and the New Testament to later texts and works.

  Essentially both groups have turned Christianity into Star Wars. Growing up ( depending how old you are ) you basically think there are is only three movies. The death star blows up and it is over.

  No, No, No.............the story keeps growing and changing. Too much money to be made.

  Also both religions are an exclusive club in which salvation depends on becoming a member. Kind of like shopping at Costco.
