Thinkers wife, Patsy Cline was an amazing talent. I was reading comments made by Owen Bradley(or Brady) about having difficulty getting her records on the air when he took over her career. It seems that station managers felt her beautiful, silky voice was not country enough. The record producers even attempted to alter her voice. I'm listening to some of her digitally remastered tracks now. I Fall To Pieces and Crazy are my favorites.
Angharad, Thanks for the Pinky and Perky information. I had Sesame Street and the Muppets. LOL I still watch them.
Frenchy, What a tragedy the bottle took Hank. He had alot of music left in him.

Re: Is Good Association To Be Found Here, Broth...
by ChuckD independs on what you mean by "good"?.
what you are likely to find is a wide spectrum of different personalities, with the common thread of having some interest in the wbts.
what you will not find is the kind of structured, controlled environment of the kingdom hall, where many of the subjects that could be discussed here would never be raised.

Is Napster Home For Demons?
by Englishman ini remember that in my days as a jw, re-recording a cassette or record was regarded as fraudulent conduct.
the idea was that the original artist was being deprived of royalties, so the practise was verboten.. if you were going to make recordings, then record talks at assemblies!.
it seems that the downloading of napster has re-awakened many jw consciences, not only because of its stated purpose of sharing music files, but because of napsters logo.. so what exactly is that little white face?

Wendy, You're not alone, Napster isn't working anymore for me either.

silentlambs, Welcome to the board. It was a very emotional day for me when I first read what you had done. There are those who are afraid to speak-you have given them a voice. Dr. King once said: The greatest tragedy is not of the brutality of evil people but rather the silence of good people. You "are the wind beneath my wings" brother. Thank you.

Excellent article on WTBS Abuse Policies
by Pathofthorns inthis link to a news article on the society's policies on handling abuse cases is perhaps one of the best ever.
it is not an easy read however.
in fact some might find it quite painful and disturbing, but it appears to present the facts quite well.. i think all who were involved in this and could come forward to help out in the matter should be commended.

Path, Thank you for the link. I've spent the past several hours at a survivors site standing in front of a brick wall. The site's owner has created The Wall-never seen anything like it online, where I could spray paint the first name of my perpetrator and my name and date if I wanted on my piece of that Wall. I filled out the form chose my can of paint. Then I began to read from A to Z all the names scrolling by, on and on. What kind of people...I set my paint can down after standing there for what seemed like an eternity. Not today. I just couldn't do it today. Maybe tomorrow, maybe never.

eyes, This one is for you by request:
The Prayer of Oneness
*
I release my isolation to the Stars
Breathing in the Energy that connects all things
Allowing my body to be caressed by Nature
*
Filling my lungs with eternal Breath
Filling my senses with the joy of being alive
Filling my heart with gratitude for the moment
*
Finally allowing my Spirit to soar Free
I am a creation of the Universe
Eternal in my Essence
*
In time...when my life wanes
Returning my body to Star Dust
Held in the body of the Great Goddess
I will again be the Energy of Life.
*
I found the prayer of oneness at spiralgoddess.com. I liked it too and saved it.
Thanks again RhW for the interesting post.Seven

Frenchy, I read everything I can get my hands on about musicians, singers and songwriters. That's why I know all this trivia. A&E's biography ia a great source of information. The one they did on Hank was great. He died on the way to a concert in Canton, Ohio, New Years day, if I remember it right-around 1953. Didn't the G.O. Opry give him the boot? I'm reading up on Patsy Cline-love her songs, great to sing in the shower.LOL
Simon, I used to play with my parents old records when I was a kid too. I always thought that Cher was singing: "Gypsies, plant some trees!!" LOL Who's Pinky and Perky? Must be a Brit thing.
