Alpha Course

Hi, ya Gem. My husband and I both have done Alpha. Actually I did it three times two times at our church and another time with all the churches getting together in our area. Many people from our commmunity came to see what all the fuss was about and the free meal. We meet many new people who would not normally come to a church service. Many got thinking & some actually became Christians, including one of our neighbours in our street.
My husband had a few problems with it but enjoyed the fellowshipping and the family week-end away. He now has a better relationship with our neighbour. I loved it it's great non threating and great times togeather the dinner really helped with this. They don't tell you what to believe, it's open descussions. You can go away I think for yourself. I didn't agree with all, but it made me go and study a few topic of main points for myself-but hey I don't agree with everything my pastor believes, or my husband but we agree on whats important Jesus, praying and study of the Bible thats whats important and opens the way for debate and descussions.... Hey what the heck! go try it, the friends are great, the foods great, and most importantly the time with G*D is great.
What it all boils down to is relationships thats what G*D made us for!

I survied an heart attack. !!!!

i had four hours into my brand new job making $18.00 and hour which would have topped out at $25.00 in two months when i got this quezzy feeling in my chest and became light headed and weak kneed.
one of the girls looked out her office door and said, "do you need help?" raising my head off the the lumber pile i answered, "yes, i think i'm having a heart attack?" the pari-medics arrived within minutes ushered me to dessert spring critical care center in las vegas, nv.

Hi Reckless, you don't know me but I know you! I was at Prisca when she saw it posted about you.
The guy up at our cornershop felt funny walked out and had a massive hartattack not that long ago died instantly, actually everyone I know who has suffered a heartattack is dead.

Like Double Edge I've never been a JW. I wasn't brought up a christian. But I always believed in somthing, you only have to look around and be intelligent to relise that none of it happened by accident.
I searched, I've had Buddhist friends, experianced mother earth and to top it all off lived for six years with a satanist.
Glory-be-hold I'm now a christian and married to one. It's worked for me and helped me through the death of my daughter.
You have to work it all out foryourself, Jesus calls His sheep...
It's not about religion or what church it's about relationships. You've taken the first step or maybe G*d has taken the first step. Church is about fellowshipping with others and encouraging us from week to week with like mined people. Not about ruling us!
We are all brainwashed in some way it how do you want to be brainwashed that matters. You can choose, and you're in control.
Read you're Bible, Study you're Bible for yourself & pray. It's you and G*D now. He will clean you room by room when your ready "Knock and the door will be opened" I have friends who have come out of cults, who will veryfiy this. Life and G*d can work.
