Are you serious? Can you please give more specifics? What videos are you referencing? I am desperate for my spouse to see this. If it's true, this could be crucial to "waking up" loved ones.

WT uses new Technology ... the Governing Body in 3D
by RubaDub ini am not sure how the wt does it or what technology is used.
but when i look at the jw.org website and look at pictures in the recent publications from the lord's evening meal / last supper, it seems very strange.. i turn on my tv, put on 3-d glasses and the apostles now appear to be current and former members of the governing body.. i turn the tv off, restart it, and it appears to be the same members but now they have changed seats.. very interesting.. rub a dub.

What The Org Teaches: #2 THE GREAT TRIBULATION
by The Searcher inevery single bible student/jehovah's witness who has ever lived, has been indoctrinated to believe that a catastrophic great tribulation would very soon engulf the entire earth, causing untold death & destruction.
this spurious teaching is drummed into every j.w.
's head and used by them as a major recruitment tool.

Thanks for this. Very nicely put together. I'll be filing this away for a rainy day.

Wife having lunch with her nosey Mother.
by Darkknight757 inso my wife is really nervous about having lunch with her mother today.
she is an über-dub who is always asking probing questions as to our spirituality.
i think she knows that we are fading out.

There are 3 options with a nosey JW mom (I have one):
1. Lie
2. Tell the truth
3. Avoid (physically, verbally or a combination thereof)
All of the above carry consequences, so she will have to decide which consequence she can live with. If she isn't clear on a strategy yet, then I would strongly recommend cancelling or postponing lunch. Mothers have a way of getting to their daughters in a core shaking way. 😉

The bitter reality of death
by Bonsai inbeen a lot of death in my life recently.
a close family member died yesterday.
a close friend died 8 weeks ago - both from cancer.

Thank you for sharing your feelings.
I am so sorry for you, losing your loved ones is infinitely painful. My condolences.
Cancer sucks. I watched, helplessly, two of my favorite people suffer and die of cancer.

Need Suggestions/examples: Guide to helping family & friends break free
by LisaRose ini was going through my copy of steve hassan's combating cult mind control and it occurred to me that it would be great to have something like this specifically for us ex jehovah's witnesses.
while this is a great book, the examples he uses are mostly from people that were moonies, as steve is a former moonie and many people that have contacted him for help were relatives of moonies.
while cults all work basically the same, it would be nice to be have some ideas on things that are specific to jehovah's witnesses.

Expanding number of DC/RC's
by DwainBowman inaccording to my elder in law, by next year the number of dc/rc's will increase by 143. the size of conventions will get smaller.
the elder in law says the goal is to make them all have around 2,000 or so at each.
they are going to make more manuals detailing each job and it's responsibilities.

If they cut it to 2 days, they could even hold 2 RCs per weekend...Friday/Saturday and Sunday/Monday.
They could reduce set up time and cost of venues and rake in 2 weekends worth of cash in one.
Arghhh..did I just give them a good idea...?

Disfellowshipped ex-wife Dies - Now What?
by snugglebunny init was a shock despite us being divorced for over 40 years.
my son from that marriage phoned me with the news of sandra's death a couple of days ago, followed by my daughter.. sandra was one of 5 siblings.

I am sorry for your loss. It is very good of you to attend the service. Though you are not attending only for the support of your children, they will feel your love for them and their mother all the more so. 🌹

Why Are You Here?
by Believer ini'm wondering why believers remain members of this forum which is clearly hostile to believers.
as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.
as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.

I read here because I like to keep up with what's happening in JW land. I am working on a fade and trying to plant seeds to wake up a couple people in the meantime. I find a lot of good ideas for that here by just reading.
Though I am a believer, I don't really have things worked out for myself yet. Therefore, I have little desire to debate. Actions speak louder than words. I find there are many ways IRL to testify--primarily showing love, letting my light shine. I know, to some, that may sound corny, but in my life this has been the key that unlocked everything for me. God is love.
So when I do enter discussions here, it's to talk about JW stuff or offer support to someone. I do not seek theological or philosophical discussions here.

Introduction - Any Believers?
by Believer ini’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.
i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.
i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

Man I hate this F'ing cult!
by oppostate inthe nicest and kindest jw's seem to be the ones who are the least connected and active in the congregation.. i've been trying to fade and been missing quite a few meetings.. of course my wife still loyal as ever if not more so since i've awoken to ttatt.. every mid-week and sunday meeting i miss she gives me the silent treatment.. she's become more and more friendly with a regular pioneer younger than she is and wife of an elder, this to the letting go of regular contact with best friends in the 0rganization, whom she was closest to but were and aren't as active and regular at meetings and field service.. it's a crying shame, i'm closer and kinder to her old friends, keeping in touch through facebook posts now and then, encouraging them through the hardships, rejoicing with them during happy moments, graduations, welcoming a new child to the world, marriages, new jobs and what-not.. she has become a serious shunner, staying away from a lot of folks we were close to because they're not good association.. she's drunk the whole cup of kool-aid and anything i say that's remotely negative towards the 0rganization is met with stern retorts and accusations i'm apostate sounding.. and yet, she's still the kind hearted, loving person she used to be.
it's like she has a wt hat she dons and it changes her mind, her outlook, her behavior.
when dealing with neighbors, with people outside the kh, she's as nice as could be and i know this kind-heartedness is genuine--but it's been hi-jacked by this f'ing cult.

I have noticed many true WT believers have gone "full retard" lately. Gone are the days of sliding by as a nominal irregular or low hour JW. It's starting to get a dicey for sure for any faders. 😁
