mark sanderson is actually douglas mark sanderson.

stephen lett is mark stephen lett .

I’m with Morph on this. Its their own ridiculous rule that they aren’t following. The JW org continues to make rules for the sake of making rules, but the higher a person’s rank the more he can bend or flat out disregard the rules.

It seems like a minor thing, but there are so many rules about so many minor things that the hypocrisy of the JW rule makers is blatantly apparent to any who care to pay attention.

Are we losing our way a bit at JWN?

firstly, i want to be crystal clear how grateful i am for jwn.

it's been my place of support for over seventeen years and it's the first online space i direct anyone to if they are taking steps out of the cult.

i am not bashing jwn - i love this place and appreciate the hard work and expense simon puts in to keep it going.

Thanks Nic for starting this topic. I have felt some of this for awhile.

I don’t feel angst about people expressing their political opinions, it’s just that I visit this forum for a different purpose. Though I haven’t been very vocal, I have always enjoyed the variety of perspectives on JW related topics. I have mostly lurked from the sidelines, so I probably don’t have the right to complain.

Maybe I will take Stuck’s advice and start JW topics...🤔

i remember getting my ass beat .

in 1987 / 1988 for listening to atlantic star.

they had a song called always.. my mother sat me down anmd told me listening to music like that would just rile up my emotions and make me look for a girl to fornicate with.. like at the age of 10 i was going to take it to that level.. my mother later banned r and b from our home.... i find it all hilarious now, but a friend of mine actually sent me a link to the jw broadcast and said i had to watch this.. i told him there was no way, but he said just start at the 50:40 mark.. i do not believe that this is what the org is doing now???.

I got back from the memorial . . .

it was pretty mundane for the most part, same songs, same outline.

the only new thing they added was the video at the end, where stephen lett speaks to the visitors and commends them for coming and recommends they go to jwdotorg and also start a bible study.

they also showed a bar graph with figures increasing every year for jws, memorial attendance and memorial partakers.

Pondering the real numbers

i was sat in the assembly hall yesterday, wondering how many pimo ones like me there was there.

or even if they don't know ttatt still don't believe it for whatever reason.. i think there must be more of (us) there than we all realise.

i mean, brothers reaching out is at an all time low, information via the internet is at an all time high and the preaching work has now become a motionless, speechless babysitting of a book shelf advertising a website as someone here pointed out!.

I don’t know...my husband gets up frequently, leaves the building even, BUT is a true WT believer. He probably listens to about an hour combined of the assembly day and I think that’s precisely why he hasn’t woken up.
