the following is posted from e-watchman's forum.. make of it what you will, but in light of all the rhetoric about "deliverance at hand" and "independent thinking", nothing would surprise me anymore.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1502&st=0 we posted about an announcement it was only local to our cong.
however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

Happiness
by Blueblades inno aspect of life is more desired, more elusive, and more perplexing than happiness.
people wish and strive for what they believe will make them happy i.e, good health, attractive looks, an ideal marriage, children, a comfortable home, success, fame, financial independence, the list goes on and on.

There is a way of seeing that is full and satisfying. It is quite simple but the mere suggestion of it brings opposition from those who value their present unsatisfying state of mind. It seems ridiculous that it would be like this but it is. At some point one has to accept that they need to find the mind they had as a child. Not the immature thinking mind of the child but the satisfying, fulfilled perception experienced by that child's mind. As a child we did not recognize that our perception of reality felt different than the adults around us. Likewise the adults ( whom we have become) felt the child's mind was just immature and full of imagination, a "child's" mind. But it is more than that. The child has a sense that he is walking in his own unconscious, like a "vivid" dream. Everything is part of him and it is all about discovering the contents of his everyday mind . Each object was perceived nonjudgementally and its intrinsic essence was felt as part of himself without anxiety. Life was that and that is what has been lost because the objects became the reality replacing the truth that the perceiving mind and its contents are the reality . You don't just get back to that everyday mind by snapping your finger although that has happened. There are different approaches but the fundamental truth is that you are walking in your own everyday mind but blocking it's natural operation . The empty, anxious feeling is the feeling of separation from what you perceive. As children you did not have this until it crept in and made you the adult you are today. In the same manner , acting collectively, the many anxious adult minds have made the world what is now. But as individuals we can find our way back and then take a fresh look at the things going on.

Some have said that Being and Knowing occurs when the conscious and the unconcious are no longer seperate. Once one is awake in the unconscious ,there are no more questions about purpose and meaning. They suggest, since you are conscious and you have the unconscious within you, the place to start is within your own mind. Simply watch what it is doing ...........all the time. They ask, can you do this?
Apparently, the unconscious is everything in your mind that you are not aware of, all conditioning , all memory, all experience, everything, including Being and Knowing. Because of language it sounds like you are attaining something. You are not. Being and Kowing is always there but hidden because of the separation between the conscious and the unconscious. Without Being and Knowing (They are one thing) there could be no consciousness with contents you are aware of,nor an unconscious with contents you are not fully aware of.
Why the separation between the conscious and the unconscious? Some have suggested that it happened with the evolution of the cerebral cortex and the activity of thought. Some see a metaphor in the Fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden and note that the meaning of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad is just that.... the discriminating activity of the cerebral cortex leading to the separation of the mind into conscious and unconscious. The conscious part is where we have our identity of self. This must be seen as an illusion. The antidote is the Mind of Christ, the nondiscriminating knowledge of Being and Knowing ( The Will of the Father) that has always been and that resides within all men.
This is all to be experienced within the mind and to most people it gives new "meaning" to the phrase "..know thyself". Because Being and Knowing are one thing , the conviction follows from the realization itself and the profundity of the experience can't be displaced by argument. This experience is anathema to organized religion . The experience liberates .

Some have found that framing the questions as purpose and meaning actually blocks one from getting the answer. They suggest that its better to ask the question Who am I?

The Subect of Religious Origins.
by Blueblades inthe subject of religious origins is a fascinating one, as the great multitude of books upon it tend to show.
the great difficulty today in dealing with the subject, lies in the very mass of the material to handle and that, not only on account of the labor involved in sorting through the material, but, because the abundance itself of facts open up temptation to rush in hastily with what seems a plausible theory.
the more facts, statistics, and so forth, that there are available in any investigation, the easier it is to pick out a considerable number which will fit a given theory.

Mr. Schroeder gave a talk in my congregation shortly after October 1975. I aproached him for some relief from my disapointment that,in June the Society had backed away from the end date without waiting until October and that many predictions were made in Jehovah's name with absolute certainty that it came from Jehovah. He paused and made a statement that blew my mind and I have never forgotten the incident...He said " We have entered the Age of Faith". I asked him what age we had been in but he did not answer and simply walked away.
