Regular Tea...steep no more than three minutes and do not squeeze the bags. Longer steeping and squeezing the bag will increase bitterness(tannin).......Herbal Teas are different. Steep for 15 minutes and then squeeze the bag to release the maximum medicinal constituents.

My letter to the editor

Because children are involved, this story cannot "blow over" . There is a certain momentum to all the issues facing the WTBTS and because they no longer control the flow of information their problems are here to stay. The Internet is the nemesis. Things may seem quiet at times but they will be smoldering. There has been too much injustice and the methods they used in the past simply will not work. Within in two days of posting the letters of judicial hearings BillBowen, Barbara Anderson and Carl and Barbara Pandelo are the subject of newspaper articles across the country. When did you ever see that happen! That's power and that kind of power used to belong only to the WTBTS. The Internet has leveled the playing field. Also, note that Silent Lambs has taken the "high moral ground" which is an absurd contradiction to the WTBTS claim of being "God's channel of communication on Earth , which claim is an insult to every informed person. What's that quote..."You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time."

By the way wouldn't it have been refreshing to see the Tennessee elders write back to the WTBTS ..."settle it yourself." The WTBTS picks up the stones and the elders throw them. Some how the local elders have to become aware that they are going to be held personaly responsible for their actions. Forget the WTBTS go after these men personaly . Help them get their spine back!

given the avalanche of bad publicity this would seem a stupid move.. but it wasn't because the jw's aren't concerned about bad publicity from worldlings.

While it may seem like a brilliant move from an "internal"(congregation) standpoint , the "move" soon will be perceived as a serious "blunder". A tidal wave of public opinion will also be placed in front of the membership and the internal grumblings will become louder and louder! I don't think the WTBTS had a choice. The presence of Bill Bowen ,Barbara Anderson and Carl and Barbara Pandelo was already stirring the membership. The WTBTS had to show "muscle" and the lesser of two evils, from their stand point was to take action before the Dateline broadcast. It was a dilemma for them and they reacted accoringly. Think of what they faced if the program "aired" and then they tried to disfellowship these sweet people. It was a dilemma and they chose the "wisest" course just as the religious leaders chose not to answer Jesus about the identity of John The Baptist. Same spirit!

In fact, one of the side issues is these very tactics . By disfellowshipping those who speak out and by simultaneously mounting a publicity campaign of "denial" (J. R. Brown), the WTBTS arrogantly insults the thinking public. Their position has not begun to be publically scrutinized but they have made it clear where they stand. These disfellowshippings may be publicized nation wide and thereby become memorials of public shame for the WTBTS.

Lizard.. yes you are right. I meant to convey that they have been forced to deal with the issue of attacking silent Lambs and that issue was the first thing they had to dispose of. This they did by simply denying it. But that issue will not go away and until they "disfellowship" that will be the focus of the press. Yes they need to act quickly to "muddy" the waters. I agree.
