  i'm hoping that someone can help me out a bit with a response to someone over at beliefnet.

  they gyst of the thing is this person keeps insisting that, according to some elders and active jw's they know, the wts does not nor has ever claimed that a person has to be associated with the org to be approved by god.

  this person claims the wts says that "christianity" is god's organization and that as long as a person conforms their life to the bible they don't have to be a jw to be approved by him.. they also say that the wts doesn't teach that all other religions are worshipping (giving honor) to satan.

  A question for those of you who were raised in the cult

  when i was a jw, i often found myself wishing that i would have been a jw from birth.

  that way i would've avoided many of the mistakes i'd made in my teenage years.

  now, after reading so many of your stories i've realized that many of you didn't really believe it when you were young.

  one of englishman's posts struck a chord with me today.

  it touched on a subject that i've been thinking alot about since the most recent flame wars.

  What should I do?

  this isn't jw related, but i was hoping to get some feedback on a problem that i'm having.. here's the deal.

  yesterday my downstairs neighbor told the maintenance man that she want to shoot us (my family).

  i've known for about 2 years that she has some mental problems and was somehow focused on us, but i didn't realize to what extent.. two years ago, around christmas, we came home from somewhere and saw 2 christmas cards laying on the rug outside our door.

  discussing the wachtower with an active drone is worse than the morning after drinking a bottle of tequilla.

  it's worse than banging your head against a steel wall.

  it's a freaking effort in futility.

  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  the elder that was studying with my husband last year called him last night.

  during the conversation my husband told him that he's been finding out some troublesome info about the jw's, like their association with the un.

  he also mentioned that he has a problem with the way they treat members who raise questions about the teachings of the society and the way they treat ex members.

  in luke 13:20,21 it says: "and again he said: 'with what shall i compare the kingdom of god?

  it is like leaven, which a woman took and his in three large measures of flour until the whole mass was fermented.".

  i've been thinking about this.
