Dateline - Cardinal Sins

I would like to make two clarifications based on the information I have at hand. First, the five year figure is not meant to say 23,000 in the last five years. In the last five years the Society has implemented a detailed summary that is collected over the telephone by computer entry. This was not in use previous to this. The 23,000+ figure would go back further than five years but would include a portion of molesters with the new data entry system.
Second, the figure is not a worldwide figure, but instead takes in Canada, USA, and English speaking Europe. The maximum figure of JW's from that standpoint could not be more than 3,000,000 and perhaps closer to 1,500,000 to base you ratios on.
This should give a more accurate look for any statistics you may wish to speculate with.
I encourage all to email Dateline in a kindly way to remind them to run the program.

Let's see authority and prominence, if that was the angle that I pursued it would have been far simpler to just keep silent and allow more children to be molested. I could have remained PO, had parts on the Circuit Assembly and District Convention, not to mention being in charge of key departments, as well as helping with the schools. It would seem to make that argument hollow with all the prominence WT had to offer if I just would have kept silent on this issue.
It is the "silence" they use to hurt children,
It is the "prominence" they use to keep elders from speaking out,
It is the "authority" they use to threaten those who suffer in silence,
It is "slander and reviling" they use to discredit those who speak the truth,
It is they who "speak bitterly" when confronted with the lies they have told to hurt children.If the elders are "quick to put an end to such an unwholesome influence," then why am I still a JW in good standing?
Loyalty and silence have always been used by wicked men to allow the innocent to suffer. For any JW to use this information to defend WT against the "pedophile paradise" they have helped to create and support leaves them to share in this corruption perpetrated against children. -

The balance of this discussion should be tempered by one simle fact, experts say 96% or more of child abuse allegations are true. Repressed memories are a part of 50% of child molestations.
Repressed memories are a part of life and all people have them at one point or another. Ever have a car wreck or other terrible accident? Why can't you remember it? It is a natural function of the brain to suppress trama that it can not handle due to one reason or the other. Most woment come forward with child abuse allegations around age 35. Why? When they have children of their own and are somehat secure in their lives they are then able to handle facing the trama they experienced, a part of which are "repressed memories."
It is true not all repressed memories are real yet it is interesting to note that these "few" cases are magnified to appear like they are what happens most of the time. This is just a plain misrepresentation of what the facts show. Would you want to be in the position of declaring 96% of true charges invalid to protect the 3-4% that could be falsely accused? If you take that position then you have an exact definition of WT Policy. With this type of logic we could effectively do away with the entire criminal justice system. Just think of it no prisions, no laws, no prosecution, why? Because there is a 4% chance they may be innocent we should not pressure them with charges or investigations.
What is described above is the classic behavior of a child molester. Lie, cry and deny. Your friend give evidence he may be guilty by turning to a person that has no knowlege of his history and may possibly use you as a character witness on his behalf. Why does he not contact his current friends and family for consolation and support?
Crime is crime, if you commit the crime and it is established by a proper investigation, you should do the time.
