  For the first time in the history of this organization people from both sides of numerous beliefs and major issues are coming together for a common cause, protecting children. We walk together to take a stand for what is morally and ethically right. We stand against an evil perpetrated aganist children within and on the outside of this organization. As you may recall when Clinton was first running for president there were various rumors running about what the election was about and they came up with a simple button, "its the economy stupid". While somewhat simple and condescending it really brought focus to what the real issues were all about.

  So while a few dolts sit back and try to figure out how many will walk down Columbia Heights and make light of what it will accomplish. Real men and real women who were raped as children are packing their bags and spending their last dime to be there. Why? To take a stand, to give support, to stand as one with fellow survivors and advocates on an issue that has robbed them of their innocence, their self esteem and their very sanity. They stand as one for what is morally and ethically right and spit in the eye of those who hurt children. I am humbled to be in their presence, I am honored to walk with them.

  It's about the children stupid....

  Are any "Active Witnesses" Marching Fri?

  i live in nyc and i am not an active witness right now, but was wondering if anyone who is active is going to the march this friday?

  does anyone know about how long the march will last?

  i go to work at 4pm.

  There will be active, inactive, df/da, worldly, black, white, yellow, red, green, male, female, child and perhaps a few pets all who support JW abuse survivors.

  While Wt practices "don't ask don't tell" with child molesters, we practice "don't ask don't tell" with child advocates.

  i was outraged when i read what a friend of ours was given him by 2 jws yesterday when he asked them the question about the child molestation issue.

  i can't belive the jws have the guts to pass this stuff out.

  the people we were with at lunch today all looked at it and was replused at the wt's reply.. what do you think?.

  Jehovahs Witnesses Policy on Child Abuse

  1.All accused are innocent until proven guilty. Guilt is established by confession or at the mouth of two eye witnesses or circumstantial evidence such as pregnancy.
  2.All allegations of abuse are reported to the Watchtower Legal Department by local elders first before any other steps are taken.
  3.Watchtower Legal then requests the matter to be investigated by untrained elders who will question the child as well as the accused abuser.
  4.A full report is then made to Watchtower Legal and they determine if the local elders should report the matter based on the evidence at hand and certain reporting laws for the area where the crime occurred.
  5.When the accused denies the charge and there is no strong circumstantial evidence otherwise the child is required to produce two eye witnesses to prove their allegation. If the child cannot the accused remains an innocent man in the eyes of the congregation.
  6.Negative talk about anyone in the congregation whether true or not is not tolerated. Child molestation along with all other judicial investigations is viewed as confidential and is forbidden to be discussed in the congregation. Negative talk after repeated counsel can be cause for disfellowshipping. (excommunication)
  7.When a child abuser is considered by the elders to be repentant the victim is expected to extend forgiveness. The scripture of forgiving up to 77 times has often been applied to repentant child molesters and their victims.
  8.When a victims experiences difficulties mentally and emotionally they typically are viewed as weak in faith. According to doctrine persons with strong faith should be able to endure so as to wait for Gods Kingdom to solve all emotional problems. Solutions are provided as being more regular attending meetings along regular participation in the door to door work prayer and bible reading, are given as the best way to address this problem.
  9.When Jehovahs Witnesses go to police with a report of abuse they are typically cautioned to not bring the religion into the matter. This means not mentioning any activities associated with the church. This can impede a police investigation by not providing full information.
  10.Counseling and therapy are generally discouraged unless the counselor is a Jehovahs Witnesses. All persons outside the Jehovahs Witness community are considered as part of Satans World (1 John 5:19) thus not to be trusted.
  11.Any molester who denies the allegation without two eye witnesses to convict remains as an unknown molester. As an innocent man can continue to serve as an elder and enjoy any other privileges that are part of being considered in good standing as well as remain unknown to all members of the congregation including his own wife.

  Please Help Now-Silent Lambs March

  your help is needed now.

  the silent lambs march is now only 5 days away and everyone on this board can take part and give their support no matter where they live.. how?.

  we have an ms word document-just print this onto an envelope and hey presto you have the silent lambs logo and web address with the simple message support silent lambs.. there is a space for you to put your countries name in front of the message.. this is then mailed to the governing body, elders, kingdom halls, bethels etc.. this simple message is on the outside of the envelope and nothing goes inside.. the message can't be ignored or the envelope thrown away without seeing it.. the cost is the envelope and the postage.. please help now if you can.. .

  downey -- two local women from a group calling themselves the "silent lambs" made a symbolic gesture monday, hanging a stuffed lamb doll on the door of the kingdom hall in downey; a move meant to protest alleged cases of child abuse within the jehovah's witnesses religious order.

  Thanks ladies for a job well done. IT is the collective of each individual effort that makes this known to the public as well as JW's. It is good for them to try and defend wt policy as it is making them think about what they are defending. One minor clarification, the 23,000 is not all elders, you might want to call the paper and make that clear. Excellent effort and excellent results.

  Excellent job at getting the word out on abuse. The WT spokesman "theocratic warfare" encountered a land mine known as the truth. That will become an atomic truth bomb before it is over if they continue to try and lie their way out of this.
