I have replied using a couple of screenshots from the Watchtowers talking about 1975 . So far the JW hasn't responded.
I imagine someone born into , or who entered into , the Witness after 75 . As someone has mentioned the fiasco was conveniently forgotten when it didn't happen .
Anyone who wasn't directly involved has been told , l suppose , that this is an apostate lie .
It may well have come as a shock to the lady to see facts in print. If it makes a difference to her who knows. However the more information that becomes public the more others may be put off from joining .

I answered a question on Quora about JW flip flops . I mentioned, amongst other things , the 1975 debacle. How Witnesses were told that Armageddon was coming in the fall of that year.
Someone, presumably a JW , took issue with this and told me not to believe everything that l was told .
Interestingly she didn't deny the flip flop over the cross or the worship of Jesus !!
I know that some of you have copies of old WTs which clearly state that 1975 was THE year .
Would some kind person please give me quotes with dates and issue numbers.

As a never been a JW , Anglican , Trinity believing wrong ' un l would say no He won't. However that probably doesn't help does it ?
I agree with what's been said about research, but - please read a variety of stuff , for and against Christianity . You won't get a balanced view just reading one side of the argument a la Watchtower mode .
I suppose that the nearest l can get to wrapping my head around how the teaching lingers is thinking about a child who's Mom always said " it's bad luck to step on the cracks in the pavement " . You grow up and KNOW that it can't be right but still feel uncomfortable when you do it .
Keep searching until you find where you feel at home .

yes, it's related to the world cup in qatar next year.. a recent un report has detailed some serious abuse of migrant workers by qatari authorities - we're talking some serious issues here:.

- a caste system with migrant workers treated differently on the basis of ethnicity.

- non-payment of wages.

i find this hard to believe and have not seen anything on this from our trusty sources on this site.

Blues , yes cases are rising but because most of the population has been double jabbed the hospitalisation and death rate are going down . Most people are just ill for a while then are ok .
As l and others have said churches of all other denominations have re-opened here in the UK . I don't see why Kingdom Halls can't .

As asp59 said most , if not all , churches are open and have been for a good few months now . There are probably people who are nervous about attending in person but my church has a pretty much pre-covid attendance.
