Linda in any country people , not just men ( you say guys and I'm not sure what you mean by that ) eat , drink and are merry with no thought as to what Christmas celebrates - the coming of the Saviour into the world.
The amount of Christians in any country is probably quite small , l don't mean people who tick Christian on a hospital admission form .
I do go to Christmas church services and we hear , l have myself read , the Christmas story from Scripture . We sing carols, which are just Christmas hymns .
There are hymns specifically for Easter , Harvest Festival etc
We thank God for sending His Son into the world to be our Saviour.

Nathan , that is what l was wondering about . It appears that some people who joined the WT as adults then left don't have hang ups about celebrating Christmas.
However probably most who were bought up as Witnesses would still feel guilty about it even after leaving the Org.
That's obviously a generalisation but l would think is pretty accurate.

I see your point Nathan but certainly in the West come December ( or even earlier) Christmas is everywhere. TV , shops , houses decorated etc . You can't even stay at home and escape it .

Christmas is a big deal in my family and circle of friends. However among ex JWs it's a bit different or so l understand. Some fully embrace the celebrations others don't.
Are people comfortable explaining their attitude to Christmas? Have you managed to shake off the JW teaching or do you still feel guilty about celebrating the Festive Season ? Or maybe you are just a Scrooge .
I get that some of the traditions are of pagan origin and Jesus wasn't actually born on Dec 25th so JW apologists don't need to tell me these things .
I an curious about you folk who have escaped the Org.

first of all, hi, i go by blotty on this website :) i am someone who has a passion for the bible and like to get a as balanced view as i can from the trinitarian and the jw (or unitarian) side - even though i come off as leaning towards one or the other at times, in my opinion they both have merits in certain cases..if this is in the wrong section i apologise - this is just something i found interesting.iv seen online a lot that say the watchtower and tract society "invented" the link between proverbs 8:22 - 30 and jesus (the word).
yet interestingly some "mainstream" "trinitarian- aimed" translations are cross referencing the following:source:https://www.biblegateway.comprov 8:22 cr rev 3:14niv, gnt, esv, nasb, nasb1995, nasbre, cevprov 8:30 cr john 1:1,2 esv nasbprov 8:30 cr john 1:3esvnasb1995nasb(this list is by no means complete)if this is simply wisdom, why is it referenced with jesus (or the word)?.
I'm going slightly off piste here. I believe that the Watchtower identity Jesus with Michael the Arch Angel . This appears to be part of their denial of the Trinity.
I see no evidence for this in the Bible so where does this come from?

why is it important to some that god only have one visible organization to represent him on earth?
why is it important to jehovah's witnesses that people recognize their organization as such?
what makes a witness more moral or righteous or save-worthy if they accept that it is his one and only organization?
Spot on Tonus , but all excellent points. I say this as an outsider looking in .
I have learnt so much on this site .
