i always found the account of the "woman at the well" to be particulary interesting.

full disclosure, i am an atheist/slight agnostic and really don't believe in god/s.. however, i do find solace in a good evensong at the cathedral.

because one of my kids came with me, it has inspired him to become a christian and hence got baptised in a uk high church (anglican cum catholic hybrid).. so, i take him to visit different places eg, ely cathedral.

he likes me to accompany him to his new church.

Yes l would agree that wot you wrote is pretty much the broad timeline agreed upon. However when it comes to details, like who the Antichrist might be , what much of the imagery represents , what form the mark of the beast may take then people can only speculate .

I think that's great news , but then l would . May l ask if your son was ever part of the Org and exposed to JW teaching ? He must find the Anglican, even high Anglican, church very different.

My Bible study group has recently finished studying Revelation. If l said that any of us understood it l would be lying .

We sought out the thoughts of various commentators and each one had a different observations. Basically they didn't KNOW either.

So l would go along with Iriddle80. Maybe add that prior to the nice stuff something like a nuclear war might be being described . That is pure conjecture but a possibility l think .

This and other episodes from the Bible should inform the WT view of women and change it .

Jesus used a WOMAN to evangelise to the Samaritan community, even the men . Mary Magdalene was the first person to see the risen Jesus and was the person chosen to tell the , male , disciples that the Lord was risen .

So Jesus felt that women were ( are ) not second class citizens only fit to take a back seat .

WT take note.

Off topic l know but l was widowed at age 59 . After 3 yrs alone l decided to move on and joined an online dating agency.

Now l had been with my late husband from age 14 ( married 42 yrs ) . So this dating lark was very strange, especially in a new millennium. My online adventures proved entertaining to people around me , not least my hairdresser.

I met a lovely man and some of you may remember that l got remarried around 18 months ago .

Never say never.

Ok , so I'm going a bit beyond here . So far some Labour councillors and some Labour politicians have been accused of turning a blind eye to Asian grooming gangs supposedly for fear of seeming to be racist.

Could it also be that a good percentage of Labour voters are Asian in many areas and they put getting votes ahead of doing the right thing ? Is this situation as much political as social?

I may be far off the mark and you can correct me if that is the case.

BBC & Gary Lineker

whether you like or loathe the guy, agree or disagree, surely he has a right to express his opinions freely on twitter?.

every bbc employee who appears on tv or speaks on the radio, should now be paranoid about any opinions they've put on their social media accounts, because if the bbc are prepared to censor/silence lineker, they'll go for anyone.. oops: looks like the bbc can dictate what their staff can & can't say in their social media accounts.. https://www.bbc.co.uk/editorialguidelines/guidance/individual-use-of-social-media.

pity they weren't as strict with their high profile paedophile, mr. savile..

LUHE, yes , we pay his wages through the license fee . Yes , a lot of people disagree with what he said .

However in a free world someone should be able to express an opinion that we may not like ( as long as it's not inciting hate crime etc ) .

That , of course doesn't change the fact that he broke his contract which is the issue at hand here.

It's not often that Cofty and l agree completely on something, but this is one of them .

Lineker broke the terms of his contract. That's it , he broke the terms of his contract. If anyone else does that, they are sacked and no one makes a fuss .

It doesn't matter if you agree with what he said or not , if you like the bloke or not. He broke the terms of his contract.

Immediately after this story was on the the radio news yesterday there was a piece about a paramedic who was stabbed while doing her important job , something that benefits society.

Now if that lady at any time broke the rules of her contract she would be in trouble. Would there be this public furore about it , no there wouldn't.

Everyone would say " she knew the rules , she chose to break them "

However Mr Lineker became famous for kicking a ball around a field , so it appears that many people see him as more important.
