this article explains what a modern time application to fleeing might involve in the prophecy jesus told about the last days.. that is a timely reminder.
i think it will become soon possible to flee to australia from the mark of the beast.

deut 14:21 you shall not eat anything that has died a natural death; give it to the stranger in your community to eat, or you may sell it to a foreigner.
for you are a people consecrated to yhwh.... it seems quite self evident the ritual of blood letting prior to eating meat was understood by the deuteronomist as binding only on jews..
I agree that Paul's words refer to murder. Also l believe that there was a rather vile practice at the time of people drinking the blood of dying gladiators in the belief that they would gain the strength of that gladiator . So that would be forbidden.
Jews have no problem taking transfusions because
a) it's blood from a human being who is still alive , not a creature which has died to provide food or as a sacrifice.
b) the preservation of human life is a sacred duty.

other churches give kids ice cream.

road to nowhere
mea culpa , mea culpa 😂
I help to organise social and fund raising activities at my church. Things like Summer Fayres, Christmas Fayres , quizes etc. . Yes PART of the idea behind these events is to attract people who don't normally come to church .
There is no preaching just a good time but of course it's nice for people who are not part of the congregation to come in meet us , feel relaxed in a church and see that we aren't ( very ) weird.
We don't hide that and why should we ?
Lots of local churches have become testing or vaccination centres and run food banks no strings attached. We feel that we should be part of the community.

fair warning, i am not a jehovah's witness believer, but i am curious about what it is you believe and why you believe it.
so i am interested in talking to you instead of reading about you from my own christian perspective.
after all, who understands what jehovah's witness believes better than a jehovah's witness?
Hi Reciprocity welcome , like you l am a never been a JW ( life long Anglican) I can confirm what Vandherhoven said. I just joined this group to find out more generally from exWitnesses about the WT .
Most folks on here are pretty much professional atheists ( but still a nice bunch 😂 ) . Something about realising the truth about da truf as they might say leaves most with a very bitter taste in their mouths . Stick around on here for a while and you will have your eyes opened, l know l did .
The Quora suggestion is a good one , l have engaged with a couple of JWs on there. Mostly from answering questions asked about the WT then being targeted by Witnesses who don't like my answers.
That may seem odd but as l say stay on here as well and you will realise why . What you will get is some animosity from people if you try to preach .

it doesn’t have to be about big money.

The question reminded me of a saying that my dear old Mom had. Her ideal job would be from 1pm to 2pm with an hours lunch break .

LongHairGal I'm not sure what you have been reading but as a woman in a mainstream religion that has not been my experience. I am on the PCC of my local church which is a pretty even split of men to women .
I do the readings and prayers once a month at my preferred church service - Evensong .
I was on my own for a couple of years when l was widowed and that status made no difference to what l was " allowed " to do .
I am curious are you American ?

British so don't do Thanksgiving. For Christmas my hubby and l are going to my eldest Granddaughter's with my daughter and her partner and my youngest Granddaughter. Oh plus Barry the Shitzu puppy who hasn't seen a Christmas tree yet , should be fun .

i answered a question on quora about jw flip flops .
i mentioned, amongst other things , the 1975 debacle.
how witnesses were told that armageddon was coming in the fall of that year.
Thank you to Anna Marina and Waton . My little brain is totally boggled by all this. I'm pretty sure that the average Witness simply gives up trying to keep track , which might be part of the cunning plan.
Jan .
Slidin , yes l did . Although to be really proper yorkies go with beef . Standards have slipped of late and most people do include them on any roast .
