Here the rhetoric is on extra high! I think its just the normal cycle of kingdom halls.

Anyone Else Feeling Forced to Go to the Memorial?
by PaintedToeNail ini refuse to go to any meetings, assemblies, conventions, special talks or the like...however, i get coerced into going to the memorial every year.
because it keeps the peace at home with hubby and also makes my parents, who live elsewhere, have hope that i will come to my senses and become an active witness again.
there is no chance in hell of that happening, but it prevents the ties to my family from being severed.

Ugh. Yes.
My mother is making sure she comes to whatever memorial we decide to go to. My wife.....on her own personal journey out.....is not ready to be the former JW that doesn't go to memorial. Its too big of a jump. So....I will go.
Probably to a hall a distance away, to meet my parents there, and be done with it. My nother is old, and is doing what she thinks is right. She isn't shunning me.....but shes thinking about it. This is more for my wife than it is for my mother. It is just to much of a jump for her. I guess we will see about next year.

Go see The Grand Budapest Hotel if you like Wes Anderson.
The story of the global flood wasn't (gulp) accurate!? Well clutch the pearls.

Pondering Noah account
by problemaddict ini see my wife being pulled into the org a little again, by some good people and kindness.
she grew up a very happy jw, and to leave is very hard for her.
but she has opened the pandoras box of her brain and can't shut it.. we were discussing blood a couple days ago.

EOM, the bible still claims it happened 4K years ago, and that there was a box with all of the DNA for every living thing on the planet that long ago as well.
Flood = local.

That is the one where Homer becomes a missionary in the south pacific to get away from the clutches of the people from PBS who found out homer gave a fake pledge to keep it on the air. "Elmo knows where you live!"
Homer is getting thrown into the plane that is about to take off and says...
"Missionary? But I don't even believe in JEBUS. (plane taking off)
"Save me Jebuuuuuuuussssss!!"
My favorite of all time is when the Christian Science Monitor van breaks down in front of their house.
One of the guys asks the other to hand him a tool so he can change the tire and the guy says.
"No......we will wait for God to jack us."

Jon, Ray will help you record. Very important beforehand however, is that you need to test it and possibly have it on speaker.

The Simpsons has some great religious scenes over and over. The rapture was featured prominently too.
I have three favorite parts to this episode.
1) The chant....."The leader is good, the leader is great......we surrender our will, as of this date"
2) Homer isn't taking to the indoctrination like everyone else who is being fed the "low protein gruel" to weaken resolve. They conclude he must be the most powerful mind they have ever come across....or.......(to be read in old school batman opening) na na na na na na na na.....leadeeeeerrr (homer copies this and loves the leader now)
3) After the leader is exposed as a fraud riding a flying bicycle with sacks of money with dollar signs.....groundskeeper willy runs after him yelling "wait leader....Willie still loves ya!"

The termites did not eat wood until post ark of course....jeez.
It kills me the more I learn that with such a massive extinction event taking place only 4000 years ago, that there is ZERO evidence of it.
I just can't beliee I ever really believed that this happened!

Your poor mother. I feel bad that she must think that if you no longer believe in the religion of your youth, that you are somehow no longer her son.
Its so unatural.
She wants you to contact brother Brown at bethel? You mean JR Brown the media supervisor? Does your family actually have a connnection with this guy, or did she just see his name on a video?
Be loving....be honest. Nothing could make you stop loving her, and nothing about you has changed. You simply no longer follow the religion of your youth.
Also, may I ask which South American country you are from? I used to serve in South America, but I am from the US.
