  minimus inspired me to recall a crazy conversation i had with a houseguest at my home while i was one of jw's and even serving.

  i had a houseguest say that she couldn't sleep all night, and then she found a birthday card in her friends room that someone at work gave her innocently enough.

  she burned it and said she could finally sleep.. i asked her if she knew how long ago her friends birthday was?

  three elders meet with a young female that knows ttatt and is trying to get back into the jws for family reasons.

  the audio also includes the three elders disagreeing and deliberating after she is dismissed from the room and then when they call her back in.

  I had a houseguest say that she couldn't sleep all night, and then she found a birthday card in her friends room that someone at work gave her innocently enough. She burned it and said she could finally sleep.

  I asked her if she knew how long ago her friends birthday was? No.

  3 months.

  I asked her why the demons didn't seem to mess with us? She said we were in the other room.

  I said, Demons can't go through drywall and studs about 3 ft to get to our heads from the thing they are possesing?

  I asked her at which point in the manufacture process did the card become demonized. Like is it when the words happy birthday get inscribed across it, or is it when someone signs it. Like if you walk past that part of Rite Aid, are there just rows of demons there?

  silence.

  I asked her why the demon chose to give her nightmares, and if she realized that that means the demon had control of her mind in order to do that.

  He doesn't control my mind!

  Ok well then how did he give you bad dreams? Bad dreams don't happen in your feet, they come from a specific part of your brain. Better yet, why does your friend (my sister), in the same room, never have this same experience?

  (my sister speaks up). I've had bad dreams.

  Would you say the bad dreams have increased since this birthday card has been in your room?

  (my wife speaks up) I've had bad dreams too.

  When did they begin? Was it on ____ biirthday?

  THIS GOES ON FOR ALMOST AN HOUR.

  and this is when I was an MS. Everyone probably knew I was doomed to leave that religion but me.

  The Bible and it's promise of Heaven and various other things

  now in no way am i trying to discredit anyones beliefs or make fun, but once you get to heaven what is the plan once you get there.. of course, we always overlay extremely physical things upon the experience of heaven... milk and honey... ruiling over the earth etc... truthful the whole idea sounds so boring / mundane /monotonous.

  spending all of eternity serving god by carry messages here and there?.

  watching humans... i guess spending time with family that are also there and reminiscing.

  Hey the idea of living forever on earth is still super appealing to me. Doesn't seem boring in the least. I just don't think its going to happen. if it does, I hope I'm here.

  i am luca from italy,31 years old,first off all be patience with my english....i'm working on it.... i write here cause i would like to know someone from usa e canada,my life project is to immigrate there..my collection of informations is just started,it's seems very difficult,but ,who know....maybe it could be possible :).

  To your first point, I think Canada is much easier to migrate to than the US. Might want to use that as a starting point. I would suggest however trying out a visit first to see if you like it. I went to Italy with some friends from my hall a couple years ago. We went to Florence, Naples, and Venice. It was fantastic, although it was very crowded and tourists were everywhere.

  There are many people here that are in the congregation. People here can have a very open and honest discussion about the organization if they choose to. You made the assuption that people who are no longer JW's somehow have lost all faith, don't believe in the bible, are following some "other" human leaders, or even just want to do what they want to do. Well here there are many people who do believe in God and the bible. There are many who don't. There are some that have joined another religion, there are others who don't. We have active elders here, ministerial servants, even pioneers.

  Its a safe place to come to be able to discuss the many hypocricies and problems with the organizations policies and teachings. You are welcome to speak openly and freely, and jgnat has already given you a very useful tool in your desire to immigrate.
