Don't forget that early on they PAID hospitals to treat Covid patients who then died, and they paid more if they were put on ventilators.
In other news, the medical industry killed thousands by drugging them and putting them on ventilators when it made no medical sense.

JW Net and Politics
by snare&racket inthis site was and remains instrumental in assisting people that want to leave the jw's.. there has been political discussion here for some time now, a good couple of years and it makes me feel a little uneasy.
i just opened up the site for the first time in some weeks, of the 10 posts being discussed, 4 were by the same poster, about politics, promoting their right wing beliefs.. this has been the trend for some time now, the same name behind a peppering of posts stirring the right v left of politics.. i remain forever grateful to the site and it's founders simon & angharad, i appreciate that simon shares some of these these political beliefs.
it would be a shame to see the site evolve from a place for jw freedom of thought and escape, to political squabbling, that the world is frankly tired of right now.. just to clarify, politics is my hobby, whilst my friends read the football scores, i'm reading polling data.

What I fear, is that such a valuable resource such as this forum, may be going, slowly but surely, into the same slippery slope territory.
Maybe you haven't noticed, but the world has changed recently. A lot.
Society has taken a sudden and dramatic turn to the left which has resulted in it invading many aspect of our lives.
Many benign things that had existed for years suddenly became symbols of nazism. I kid you not, Mr Potato Head is now a sign of the evil white patriarchy. No doubt anyone owning one is a white supremacist that reads Dr Seuss books to their blonde-haired, aryan master-race-wannabe children and feed them breakfast pancakes with Aunt Jemima syrup on while making "OK" symbols while holding the fork.
But did anything really change? Did those people slide to become right wing extremists?
Of course not. They are not and stay exactly as they are. But to hear some people, they have "become" right wing extremists. This is the trick that those on the left use. If you hold basic sensible middle-of-the-road beliefs, such as the belief that men and women are physically different, then you are somehow someone who has been transitioning to the far right.
The reality is that they haven't changed at all. The Overton window has been shifted so far left that it's warped people's judgement and the weak-willed and feeble minded think that they need to go along with it - that is what the majority usually do as demonstrated by numerous behavioural experiments and history.
Just like we don't really change - same forum, same allowance for people being outspoken especially when it's calling out misuse of power by politicians and faulty thinking of those following and defending ideologies instead of principles.
It's better to allow people free expression than to try to enforce correct expression. The only exception is when things are clearly already debunked with factual evidence and anyone repeating them are simply trying to propagandize. The line I usually follow is whether someone is genuinely interested in a debate and exchanging viewpoints or whether they are a cut-and-paste warrior simply trying to spread disinformation as often as they can.

Sorry, but I don't believe the stats.
Just because someone is labelled as dying from Covid doesn't mean they did. I think a good proportion of those died from other causes and maybe never even had it. The numbers have been exaggerated to justify the over-reaction by the west.

Glad he only hurt himself with his dangerous & aggressive driving, he could easily have killed some innocent person. He's a great golfer but seems to be very flawed as a character, certainly not any kind of role model.
BTW: I thought the problem with Asian drivers was not that they drive fast but that they are too slow and over-cautious? The people you nearly run into driving 30 in a 60 zone or 80 instead of 110 in Calgary are always Asian.

FYI: People sticking the "right wing" label on something doesn't make it so.
It's lazy and often completely dishonest.
What about if we just said we don't want to hear any "commie propaganda" and then just say "la la la commie propaganda!" to anything we disagree with?
Would that be annoying? Especially if you could debunk the claim with a reasoned argument, but all you got back was more "see, only a real commie bastard would try to defend it!"?
That's why we allow politics, as long as people take part in a proper discussion. When they just want to dump already debunked propaganda and memes or they are obviously dishonest in their claims of being offended or whatever (e.g. changing whether a policy is good or bad solely based on who is in office) then I become very intolerant very quickly.
Tip: if you can't argue for or against a policy other than stating your personal dislike for the person advocating it, then you likely don't qualify to take part in the discussion and you should be watching reality TV instead.
American politics holds zero interedt for me...so thats most of this site ignored. UK politics even less
I always find this amazing, given how impactful US politics is on everyone's lives, especially those in the UK. It probably has a bigger impact on UK lives than many UK political decisions do.
