  first of all… i am ok. i was robbed at the gas station this morning.

  after my hands stopped trembling, i managed to call the police.

  they were quick to respond and calmed me down, but all my money is gone.

  Presently the US has oil sanctions on Iran, Venezuela and Russia. These are on this short list precisely because they are dictatorships with bad human rights records.

  Meaningless shell game. It's like someone not wanting to spend money on groceries, and agreeing to pay the mortgage instead as long as their partner pays for the groceries.

  The same groceries are still bought. The same money is still spent. It even comes out of the same accounts but is just split up differently. The net spending is still exactly the same.

  Europe buys someone else's oil and the US buys the oil they might have otherwise. It's probably all handled at the spreadsheet level by notionally changing who owns what.

  But it's a decent con for the easily fooled to make them feel better that they are "doing something", just like campaigning for human rights while purchasing products that perpetuate slavery and misery.

  If the supply chain of lithium or cobalt presently involves human rights abuses, get involved in human rights defense. Support organizations that seek change and expose abuses. These efforts do make a difference.

  a friend of mine told me that her witness relative from west coast had reacted to minions (child animation) in a same way that some jdubs reacted to smurfs.. aka she claimed that minions are "from satan".. has anyone else heard this?.

  Also, they like to shit on anything that gives kids any small amount of joy in their lives, because everyone needs to be as miserable as they are.

  So Biden was the direct cause of both the invasion of Ukraine and the price of gas rising besides all the other idiotic things he did (the extension of COVID, the variants since, economic depression etc)

  Biden was involved in Russia taking Crimea under Obama. Then nothing happened while Trump was in power. As soon as Biden is elected the world goes to shit again and Russia invades Ukraine.

  These things are not coincidences. They are planned. War in Ukraine was being built up and then had to be put on hold after Trumps win. Does anyone think that it's coincidence that the Ukraine has one of the highest rates of corruption in Europe and also, so many kids of top Democrats mysteriously work for Ukraine companies despite having no relevant experience ... besides their proximity to power and being a convenient conduit to channel money?

  All you clowns that spent years chanting "Russia Russia Russia" and claiming Trump had links to Ukraine then suddenly go blind to what is happening.

  Hopefully the Oscars continues to hemorrhage viewers as they drop further into irrelevance in people's lives.

  It was about profits for the Candian oil company TC energy Corp vs. the legitimate concerns of US citizens.

  I find it amazing how people don't understand commerce. Guess who profits from selling anything? The seller! They get the money - it's how trade works!

  What do you expect happens when you order something from Amazon? You get to keep the money and get the product you wanted? Of course not, the seller profits from selling the goods and you get the product you wanted. Even Homer Simpson understood that "money can be exchanged for goods and services".

  It's the same with oil and gas - the US wants it because the US needs it because the US uses it. That isn't changing anytime soon. The only question is who do you buy it from, and instead of buying ethically sourced oil from the closest ally, Biden ensured that the US instead has to buy it from dictators and has to compete with other idiots who also made themselves dependent on them. So the price goes up.

  Its simple supply and demand. The supply doesn't match the demand, so prices rise.

  Supply can't be provided because the pipeline doesn't exist. You can rabbit all the propaganda you want, but anyone with half a brain can see that western governments have pursued some pretty dumb policies when it comes to energy supply and they are now paying the price.

  Whether that is the US trying to pretend that it won't use oil, to Europe thinking wind and solar will replace nuclear, it's all made us more dependent on the Saudis and Russia, a devastatingly dumb and short-sighted plan driven by faulty science and propaganda.

  Ironically, some of it Russian propaganda that the left normally sees everywhere.

  People are also quick to excuse sitting presidents, even when they clearly made things worse.

  Biden's very first act as President was to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline that would have supplied the equivalent amount of ethically produced oil that he's now going round the world grovelling to source from dictators and human-rights abusing regimes.

  That was a situation created through corruption, incompetence and virtue signalling. We now know that his family have crooked deals with Ukraine, so it's very likely he makes decisions to screw normal Americans for personal profit.

  Nationalizing O&G is not the solution, see Venezuela. It's why leftist idiots create a crisis in the first place, to dupe the foolish into supporting policies that would make things 10x worse.

  There is nothing that governments provide that isn't more expensive and less efficient as a result.
