  Sadly, it's like victims of financial scams. Being scammed doesn't make people more likely to see through things in future, if they don't educate themselves after the experience, it makes them more likely to be a victim again in future.

  He was taking advantage of JWs for cheap labor, then he just moved on to exJWs to continue his grift.

  Just looking at the excerpts from his self-published book gives me the creeps. He goes into detail about his rather creepy behavior. He bullies and abuses people, and doxes them and he needs to be stopped before something even more serious happens.

  I seem to recall him saying something along the lines that he "had to include some details in his book" to prevent someone using knowledge about some of it to blackmail him (?)

  The question is, does Mr "I'm going to say every 2 or 3 months for 3 to 4 years" tell the whole truth or just enough to be plausible and try to take the wind out of some allegation? To make it appear that he's told all while still leaving the truly damaging things out?

  i can remember the original turquoise coloured evolution book produced by the organisation and the numerous public talks around it.

  mind-blowing to a gullible youngster growing up in a jw family.. the flood of noah's day when thousands of tons of suspended water fell from the atmosphere and on hitting the cold poles instantly plunged the woolly mammoths into a deep freeze, to the extent that the last mouthful of grass was still there in the mouth in mid-chomp.

  you can quickly see why a kid with a fertile imagination was transfixed by those apparently up-to-date scientific discoveries as presented by the wt org!.

  i keep getting this person who wants me to email them with information already freely available on this website.. i have told him that i have no intention of emailing a total stranger from my personal email address, but they keep sending me this demand.. from bola to lostinthefog1999.

  can you tell me how to block this persistent messager?.

  He admitted to visiting sex workers, which presumably happened in Croatia.

  I thought on the Gold interview that he said he "dated" a sex worker in Thailand.

  I doubt he meant it like a chaste JW courtship ...

  As Las Malvinas pointed out - he mentions sex workers, plural, and it's his usual word-play misdirection saying that it wasn't his main reason for going.

  The thing anyone interviewing him should ask is when did he last visit a prostitute and how many prostitutes has he visited since telling his wife that he's through doing that ... and did he ever promise his wife that!

  It’s like his latest statement about him ‘protecting the ones he loves’. How exactly?

  What's the issue with LastPass?

  They were hacked and all user vaults taken, some of which contain hex-encoded (not encrypted) data for website URLs. These could leak data if the bookmarked page happened to have a reset token in the URL or at least indicate which user vaults maybe worth hacking ... ie. which contain higher value accounts (no one is going to hack your Netflix account, but your Bank account ...).

  1Password has a significantly more secure system and put effort into keeping things up-to-date.

  LastPass seems to have been bought by a company that wanted to squeeze every $ out without any ongoing investment. Their handling of the incident, and delay in coming out with the truth and attempts to give misleading information are pretty bad.

  I find their reasoning flawed and based on a great deal of ignorance and lack of empathy.

  Yeah, that person seems clueless about reality to the point of being a fucking idiot, sounds like they are trying to justify to themselves that prostituted women are really sometimes having a great life so what behavior they themselves enabled wasn't so bad. The reality is that Pretty Women was a fantasy and prostitution raises levels of abuse and violence for ALL women. The research is clear and damning. It should simply not be tolerated and no moral person defends or excuses it.

  I have no idea about publishing, and I suspect that you would be in the minority of the community who does know. When you don’t know something, this kind of information seems legitimate.

  It's funny how sometimes people lie when they don't even really need to, like they get a kick out of conning people.

  It also reminds me of being in PC World back in the day and overhearing some salesman spouting absolute bullshit like "if you upgrade the CD player it will definitely make your internet faster".

  I hate those kinds of people who take advantage of others naiveté.

  There was a black YouTuber who made a good video about the fiasco early on. She said that a married associate of LE tried to hit on her. Did anyone find out who that was? If he was prone to that kind of thing then LE was probably aware of it as well… so it’s possible they have dirt on each other.

  Birds of a feather tend to find each other and stick together.

  It's why I judge anyone who didn't distance themselves immediately his real nature was revealed. If they continue to support him, they are women-hating perverts. No amount of turning as blind eye to what he was doing alters the fact that they were enabling it and if they continue to support him they condone and support what their money was spent on - abuse.

  He actually believed that spending 2 years in art college, ART college, would land him any kind of job and was then surprised that all he could get was low level part time McJobs?

  The people who get design jobs have portfolios of work they can show to demonstrate that they can do the job.

  Has he ever demonstrated that he has any artistic or design skills whatsoever? Or has he always got other people to contribute their work instead?

  When you're in your 20's you can get away with lack of career experience and skills. As you get older, there are fewer potential jobs for someone with a clear history of being work-shy and an ever increasing pool of young talent that can be given those opportunities instead.

  Still incredible that someone who relied on his "activism" so much was so careless with his support and trashed it all. Such an entitled attitude.

  A though on the shooting tragedy

  i am thinking about how i read in the reports that the shooter had contacted another person expressing desire to go back .....and was told to contact an elder.

  the man seemed to me to be reaching out for help and got put off...and since he had called this person, he was put off by someone he felt could make a difference.

  i would hate to be in the shoes of the person the shooter called...for i would feel so guilty, thinking i could have said something else and none the tragedy would have happened.

  he reportedly told a union representative that he would shoot his wife and the rep before coming “after the people responsible at Sturgeon.”

  Sounds like someone has a claim against this union for doing nothing!
