  New System Conundrum

  does everyone remember the wt stating that in the new system, after everyone has been resurrected, there will be at least one acre per person?.

  didn't that seem like a lot of space to you?

  i know it did to me, growing up in a typical suburban neighborhood.

  Do we get to pick where our 1 or 5 acres are? There's going to be a land rush again isn;t there!
  The things that do bother me (apart from having to go naked - I'm British don't forget) is who is going to manufacture toilet paper and what do we do when current supplier run out ??
  Also, will we still have electricity and if not, how will I power my TV, laptop etc...

  Crisis With Singles and Single Parents Looming?

  likely we've all noticed that on the two major jw discussion forums the most active forums are the "singles or dating" forums.. it would appear that there is an increasingly large number of single parents appearing in the congregations these days for whatever reason.. i admire these ones for the effort they put forth to bring their children up taking on the role of both parents.

  from many of their comments in the "singles " forums, it appears many find being a single parent an extreme liability in "the truth" as far as finding a mate goes.

  i wonder if jw culture has something to do with how these ones are viewed as prospective marriage mates vs. the mentality in the "world".. as far the single people go, there appears to be almost a certain desperation to get married, further scaring off potential mates.

  I think the number of 'happy couples' and the success of marriage in the truth is exagerated. I saw somewhere that the society has as high a divorce rate as the rest of the world.
  Considering the pressure *not* to separate by the society then there are probably many more who live on in failed marriages just to keep up appearances.
  The bottom line is that marriages in the truth fail more than those in the world

  no matter what.. 3. no matter how long it takes to get ready, guys will always wait for us.. 4. we don't consider urination to be a competitive.

  sport.. 5. our friends don't pick on us if we aren't sleeping with anyone.. 6. our idea of a good movie doesn't need "debbie does..." in the title.. 7. multiple o's.. 8. we always have food in the fridge.. 9. we know stuff about everyone.. 10. we get to shop at victoria's secret.

  Unfortunately, within seconds of clicking on it my wife came and stood behind me asking "whats THAT !".
  The only way I could reasonably get out of a severe beating / nagging / sulk (delete as appropriate) was to promise that I was looking for something for her. She seemed happy with that so now I've just got to pick something.
  Obviously, a gift should never be choosen hastily so I'll have to spend some time on the site - probably hours. I think that if I download some of the pictures it may help me decide

  the only one i've found compares 108 different versions including nwt.

  if anyone knows of a site better than this one please provide the link.

  I got an excellent bible off Amazon that is 8 versions all in one. Each page has the different versions of the same passage in ad it is really useful for comparing the different versions and getting a feel for what the true / 'average' meaning is as any one obviously biased rendering stands out quite a lot.
  It doesn't have the NTW in though and I don't think the society would be willing to grant permission for inclusion in somthing like this for obvious reasons.

  What is the WT afraid of???????????????????

  ok, since it was so easy to get on here i'm assuming that this place is also over run by wts critics...but anyway!.

  i've read a plenty of wt mags and got sucked in enough by the whole thing to go to a few meetings and do a bible study( which i wouldn't really call a study, since we just read one of their books).i soon broke of the whole thing and didn't even read another mag for about 6 years...6 months ago i wandered into h20 out of curiosity and ended up reading up on the arguments against the wts.. i have a simple question, and its probably very naive to ask this...but why is wts so afraid of debate?...there are plenty of sites arguing against the wts...but none for, apart the official site which doesn't address the issues raised by so called "apostates" anyway.. if the wt has the the truth why dont they just refute the the arguments against them instead of shutting up shop and labelling anyone who questions them an "apostate?

  " or from satan or something.. i'm really beginning to think that all this wt business is just waste of time, that if i were to go to kh and ask questions that i have, i'm more likely to be labelled a trouble making agent of satan rather than be taken at face value as someone with serious questions.

  Religion is a very emotional topic and being a JW or Ex-JW probably presents more challenges than most other religions.
  We all need to let of steam from time to time and can all be guilty of sometimes saying things in haste that we later regret.
  I think the main thing is that we have somewhere to share our views or vent our anger and it's important that others dont take offense too easily and likewise that we don't intentionally offend anyone.
  Anyone have anymore quotes ? I like those...
