Unbreakable
by Snowball inany of you seen it?.
i liked it, but i realize it is one of those movies where you either love or hate it.. unbreakable is actually a superhero movie...but it sure aint like any other superhero movie thats been done!
i think it did a good job of placing an extraordinary situation right smack dab into the middle of everyday ordinary life.. wayne rogers

Is it the one with Brice Willis?
It's due out over here soon - saw the trailer on TV and it looked good.
The the pics are very expensive over here though so we'll probably just wait for the DVD - it's hard to get out too with the kids. -

Celtic Music
by Snowball ini have developed a deep love of celtic music.
i listen to clannad, enya, loreena mckennitt, natalie mcmaster, and capercaillie.. i have also discovered 'celtic rock' when i went to the scottish festival in pleasanton ca last year.
seven nations was playing modern rock music with fiddles and bagpipes.

My mother in law loves Clannad...I don't go for celtic stuff myself living in the middle of it all. Mind you, I do quite like the Corrs - and you can still enjoy them with the sound turned down !

Christmas Greeting!
by RR ina few years ago i met a women, former jw from queens, ny, she had left the society for various reasons, one of course, was the 'lack of love' within the congregation.. she started her own greetings card company for xjws, called great crowd greetings.. in going through my stuff, [the never ending, some day i'll get this basement cleaned up] i came across a card she sent me during christmas 1996.. on the cover it reads:.
"i bring you glad tidings ...".
on the inside it reads:.

I did a web site for a jewellers a few months ago (still have a bit to do on it). He showed me some of the stuff he has which was very nice (and expensive). He sells things to Manchester United players and all the rich fold round Alderley Edge...a different world!
I never really thought much to jewellery but having seen some 'proper' stuff I can appreciate it if not afford it (I tell Angharad that it's the thought that counts...)
BTW: The site is http://www.hhjewellers.com if anyone is interested. -

no problem thinker / thinkers wife
The new version of the forum software that I'm working on will let you have a separate alias (display name) to the one you use to logon with but you can't do that yet so you'll have to stay as thinker for now. If you want it changed I can but you'd have to enter it when posting (if you use the 'remember logon details' option it won't be too bad though).
I don't know what you mean with the search thing - is it to be able to search for post by person? I agree, that would be neat and useful. Just don't enter 'waiting' 'cause you'd be there all day! -

My uncle-in-law visited WatchTower HQ and farms in the states last year and ever since has been very troubled. He was an elder but I dont think he is anymore - he's having some emotional problems now and now really getting the help he should. The people who are closest to him just put more pressure on him to be like a good JW should.
It's quite sad. -

New Ex-JW support group in SF Bay Area
by Snowball ini am pleased to anounce a new chapter of the san francisco bay area support group for ex-jws has been started.. the [silicon valley ex-jw support group] will be holding its first meeting on january 28th, and thereafter every 4th sunday of the month.. we are aiming to be accessible to the south and east bay area, including san jose.
our meeting place will be in the fremont/milpitas area.
we desire to provide a safe place for ex-jws to be able to heal without the judgementalism that we experienced in the watchtower, so we encourage all attendees to be tolerant and non-condemning of other members or their current lifestyles.

er...I dunno really...just somewhere for people to go to discuss and organise things. I guess the whole forum is kind of support for people who can't make it in person.
I know I would probably never make it in person (not very comfortable socially) but getting to know people more anonymously would help a bit. -

mommy, I think the 'truth' puts a lot of pressure on people and especially marriages. I hope you manage to rebuild a relationship with your father. I'm in the process of doing that with mine and it is really great getting to know him better now that I can better understand what he did and why (and without anyone trying to influence how I think and feel).
