Here in my area, they have radio talk on the AM station and the 2 guys were talking about this priest in 60's who got sentenced to 9 years of jail. They said he sure will get his sex appetite fulfilled now! LOL....... they are disgusted by the Pope, the whole church and their hiding people like that priest.
I wanted to call them and ask them if they thought the Catholics were the only ones to hide pedophiles.

My mother quit donating to the Catholic church and stopped attending their services when she found out that their donations went to the Archdiocese which then paid out the lawsuits and continued supporting the priests without defrocking them.
okay, so i'm there at work, working merrily along[not], when elder wart nose comes over by me, and asks me questions about this anti-jw site, that he's heard about.
i ask him, where he got his info, "he's got his resources" he says.
so, i'm like, "so fucking what?".
Have a tape recorder with you at all times so you can just click it on and they will see that his claims of sexual harassment have not a shred of merit but that this is because you chose not to join a certain religion. Rather this is religious harassment and he is the one doing the harassing!!!!!

If you write a letter they DA you, as you know. But if you haven't done anything wrong, why should you DA yourself? Just walk away if you want. They can't DF you without meeting with you unless you have joined the military, living with someone without being married, have started attending another religion's meetings or actively go apostate and start promoting those ideas......Then they say you DA yourself by your actions.
I'd make them DF me, or better yet, can't you just walk away, not meet with them. But maybe you will end up with a policeman elder who hunts you down and keeps encouraging you to write that letter, seen that happen, too.....and then its hard on his family and his daughter.
doing a watchtower search on googles.com, i came across not a few sites/hmo's listing the insurance companies they accept and listed among quite a few was watchtower bible tract society.
does the society have an internal health insurance agency?
i asked my boyfriend about this and he said that in order for that to be the case, a company has to have plenty of money and usually does this to be able to specify its own coverage, i.e., no blood transfusions.
That particular hospital is one of 5 of the bloodless surgery hospitals in Southern California. The HIS and HLC are active at this Center and give seminars bimonthly at this location for JW's. A JW elder is on the board of this hospital.
I have a friend who still gets her dental treatment done at Bethel even though her missionary service is over.
I would assume that with all the DO's, CO's and Assembly Hall Servants that are in the USA, along with any special full time servants, they'd have to have their own insurance company. And its not that hard to form one. Once you form one, you just re-insure it through another insurance company, like an A+15 company, one that's financial sound and well run (that gives it that A+15 Best rating)

i wish to present three situations that are true to life and open up a discussion on these different scenarios and how would would personally act toward them.. 1) a 75 year old person has been a jw for the past 40 years.
most of their friends are jws.
they look forward to the fellowship at the meetings and though the congregation is far from perfect, they are pleased with the fact that they have a purpose in life.
What about the sister who was faithful all the time but had a son who didn't believe? So when it came time to help around the house, no one was there? Or when she couldn't cook they said she was a complainer, that she had family.........
When it was time for a rest home and she went because her "family" wasn't her "family"?

i basically said that 1.5 years ago, i researched and came to the conclusion that the societies blood ban was wrong.

im relatively new to the board, but i wanted other people's opinions.. growing up in "the organization" i pretty much blindly adhered to all instruction as a teenager.. as i got a little older, as most here im sure, i began to see how some practices were imposed on the flock without any biblical backing.. one that bugged the living hell out of me was the restriction of being allowed to grow facial hair.. i was literally removed from carrying the mics and reading at bookstudy because my sideburns were too long and i wanted to grow a goatee, hence i often showed up with stubble.
i was taken to the back room and told i was being "too worldly.
" when i questioned the elders why it was unallowed by the society and that i wanted scriptural evidence and backing for their imposed regulations, i was scoffed at and told i should do as i am told.. i told them where they could stick their "priviledges" .

i can't understand this--jw don't celebrate christmas or thanksgiving, but still demand to get paid for the holiday at work?

I think that they should have the same time off. I volunteered to work all the time except then realized that as a commissioned salesperson, there were no customers to be had, so I might as well be off too, rather than waste my time. Eventually the Jewish boss realized that there were no people to work on the holidays he wanted to have open just in case a customer cruised thru.
