One must endure the dirty looks at the KH, the dirty looks at the supermarket and shopping malls if one wants to be reinstated. Oh, and don't forget that you also must endure the painful look on their faces should they be forced to sit in the back room with you during the meeting. If you're lucky, they will talk about how nice your children look so you can hear it but they sure won't talk to you and tell you how your child is growing!

Dr Laura
by AuntieJane ina lady caller (catholic) today who married a df'd jw.
she called dr. laura because the grandparents put their beliefs in the little 3 year old's head...not going to heaven because she isn't a jw, etc.
dr. laura, in true fashion, said that the lady who called was irresponsible because she 1) should not leave a young child alone, unsupervised, with people who are filling her head full of "stuff" that they don't agree with; and 2) because they are hostile to her husband, the df'd jw.. she blasted the lady who called about leaving her kid with these grandparents.

Dr. Laura is imperfect, just like us. I basically like her advice but have heard to cut people short and miss the point of their call. Her advice is not easy to take nor is it always spot on. But no one can give the same advice to every individual. She would have me living in a small condo working at my old job (only 4 days a week) but I couldn't afford to invest in retirement nor a savings account.
Dr. Laura advocates putting children first. I agree with that. If I had the ability to be a stay at home mom, I would do it in a heartbeat. I don't need a career to be fulfilled.
Dr. Laura's mom is now dead. She has been dead at least 2 years now.

It is one thing to own a rifle for hunting purposes, or even protection; another entirely to have access to the broad range of concealed or unconcealed weapons now manufactured.
Well, it's kinda hard to fit a rifle in your bedside table or up on the closet. I think hand guns offer good protection to trained users. I am opposed to general access to "cop-killer" type weapons. It seems the bad guys have better weaponry than the cops! We had a shoot out here at a bank a few years ago where the cops were way under-powered. They had to run to a nearby gun shop in order to subdue the bank robbers.

Your debit card probably has a Visa or Mastercard logo on it, call Visa or MC instead of your bank and see if that helps.

I grew up as a police officer's daughter. He was an undercover agent. We had several loaded guns in the house. I was 6, my sister 4, when at least I can remember we knew where the guns were. We were allowed to use them to 'play with' but we had to ask permission first and were never allowed to point them at each other. Well, guns are quite heavy to run around with and it's no fun to shoot and say BANG BANG and point somewhere else. Our interest in guns was very little. I would guess that my dad always kept the safety on but I know for sure there were bullets in the guns.
A sharpshooter friend of mine has encouraged me to get a gun as a single mom. I don't think I need one where I am, which is a pretty safe neighborhood. However, the advice was this:
- 1st round = blank (but has a very loud noise)
- 2nd round = pepper bullet
- 3rd round = live round
The reasoning is that if a child gets the gun, or a stranger, the first two rounds are not deadly. The pepper one will hurt but it sure won't kill anyone. The child should throw the gun down crying after bullet number one! You, as the gun owner, know you will have to fire 3 TIMES for the force to be deadly.

There were some pictures of her in her youth, as a socialite, where she is shown to be quite attractive. She needed braces, thats for sure, but for some reason, she never got them.
