Hey don't worry about NPY............ she is a tease. At least that's what all the boys say.
If NPY, me and Sassy got locked in a closet we'd probably find our flasks in our purses and have a party, so don't let her fool you!!
ha ha ha ha i knew i would get you with that one.. actually, this morning my kids locked me in the closet.
i could not get out for the life of me.
i sat there telling them to let me out as they laughed at me.

all my life, i've been covering over things, to keep the peace in my family.
i've been scared to reveal my true identity on this site b/c i might be discovered by a lurker....but i've been thinking about it a lot lately and i've come to the conclusion that there's no point in lying about it anymore, and if it's meant to happen...then it will.......so, with that being said.... .
my name is jobeth white.
Hello JoJo! Good for you!
That's me in my avatar and I am Kelly ---- glad to meet you!
i made my first post on jwd and was ignored.. .
i was so afraid.
i was still attending meetings and my husband had no idea i was posting on an apostate site.. much has changed; we are both inactive faders and much happier.. thanks to all of you along the way that shed light on the darkness in my life.. love, blondie
Glad that you decided to stick around even though you got ignored!! No one ignores you now, do they? Well, except your former congregation!!
it always bugged me when i would hear or read that the only true friends you would find would be those you made in the organisation - nobody else will really stand by you when you need them.
it used to puzzle me when (prior to being disfellowshipped...) my true friends and my close loving family didn't make contact with me for years, right when i was very deeply depressed and i needed them.
certainly i could have put myself in their lives more pro-actively, but, it's a very effective control tool to tell people not to bother befriending a non-witness; even if they don't damage you spiritually, they will never be as loyal to you as your brothers and sisters.
Real friends will stick by you even when you make dumb decisions............JW's only care if you are within their organization

Yes, that was sad. I in the 3rd book, she finally dies. They said she was still beautiful even tho she had been locked in the dark --- no windows, the door didn't open : food was put thru a hole made in the door.
For those of you who don't know, the Sultana books are true. It's a trilogy of books based on the life of a Princess in Saudi Arabia. You would not believe the things these women are forced to endure because of the male and religion dominated country.

I can't see wearing the burka at all, ever. Read books from women who must wear one or wear the Arab "abaya" and veil. These women must be covered head to toe even the eyes. If you read what they say, the are jealous of the Bedouin women who are allowed to show their eyes! Other veiled women have traditions that allow for the showing of the whole face.
Women who are completey veiled say they fall, it's difficult to see and hot! They crave to have their face see the sunshine. I read the Princess Sultana trilogy of books. Only when they left Saudi Arabia were the women (they were of the royal family) allowed to wear rid themselves of the veil and abaya.
It's a myth to think that all the covered women dress only for their families. When they have parties ---- yes, all women, the women dress to the nines. The women are in competition with one another. The men find out from their aunts, sisters, mothers, etc who is the most beautiful or desireable under those veils. The men know from the womenfolk what the women look like under those covers and desire to marry the most beautiful. At their private extended family gatherings, the women do not don their veils ---- again, dressing for everyone else.
So, even though they don't wear the burkas/veils 24-7 ........these women would love to be free to drive, free to work, free to wear what they want, free to go out of the house without the company of a male.

Six Flags Unveils Fastest Roller Coaster |
Wednesday, September 29, 2004 JACKSON, N.J. ? Six Flags Great Adventure ( search ) is opening the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster this spring ? a thrill ride that accelerates to 128 mph in 3.5 seconds and rises 456 feet off the ground. Plans for Kingda Ka ( search ), which is expected to be the cornerstone of new development at the central New Jersey amusement park, were to be unveiled Wednesday. The current speed and height record holder is "Top Thrill Dragster" at Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio. Made by Intamin ? the same company Six Flags hired to build Kingda Ka ? Dragster shoots riders to 120 mph in 4 seconds and takes them to a height of 420 feet. An animated depiction of Kingda Ka shows the coaster creeping slowly, stopping and then launching forward horizontally at nearly 130 mph before climbing at a 90-degree angle more than 45 stories above the park. The coaster then spirals 270 degrees as it plummets, flattens out and climbs again as it shoots over a 129-foot hill, which the company says will make riders feel weightless. It's over in about 50 seconds. "This is the first step in a process of really transforming Six Flags Great Adventure from the largest regional theme park in the world to a true regional destination," Kieran Burke, chief executive officer of Oklahoma City-based Six Flags, told The Associated Press. |
