I was soooooo mad when I read this! I could not believe my eyes when they brought up how it might effect others in the congregation! I mean, if they don't have enough guts to come up to me and ask why I came out of a church or to enough BRAINS to see the hearse, you know that BIG BLACK LONG CAR and notice the black outfits on everybody, then they don't deserve an answer from me and deserve to be "stumbled" !!!!

What is so irritating is that JWs say they don't have a clergy.... They DOOOOO......ok its unpaid and they don't have a special title that is supposed to in front of their name, but they do bear titles and are given 'DOUBLE HONOR' and then when something like this happens they wonder how so many got suckered by simply a brother, "not a clergyman, not like those evangalists or Catholics."

you may known that previously, this discussion forum owned by big ray, he is a faithful witness to watchtower, he sold his forum then formed some other similar forums for others, who faithful to the society.
however, he now seems has a problem with society.
BIG RAY did not get pressure from the Society to shut down his site. He simply did not have the manpower, time or energy to keep screening the applicants who wished to be admitted. Then they had the admins and mods who constantly controlled the posters and kept them so regimented into the forums and would shut down any thing that seemed to conflict with their view (ie no one under 21 should be dating, so no posts regarding that view or solicitation by those under 21 for a possible partner).
I think Ray had a hard time admining the site along with the cost of the whole durn thing. He was a good man with good intentions.
I have no good words about the owners of the other sites!
reading the other thread about answering at meetings gave me the cold shivers.
there is a fundamental part of being a witness that i've never understood, that just seems so at odds with the philosophy outlined by jesus and the apostles in the new testament - why weren't we allowed to ask questions at the meetings?

I've asked a question or 2 during the bookstudy, but nothing controversial, just asked for some clarification on information on the book based on "new light" that had not been in the book because it was printed before the new info. I was not met with any criticism but was very timid about raising my hand.....ie the half hand-raising technique with the squishy face "like is it ok for me to ask this question" look.

we recently had the visit of the co, during the elders meeting he addressed his concern over the decline in meeting attendance, especially for the tms & sm.
our particular congregation saw a decline of 30% from his last visit 6 months ago.
in a private conversation with him i asked if our congregation was unique in this regard and he said no, some congregations have seen a much higher percentage of decline, 50-60%.
I liked the bookstudy better than the TMS and SM because it was shorter and to the point. The TMS was too boring, poor effort on the part of most of the students, unrealistic settings. The SM could have been shorter, not so drawn out.

When I was about 10, my dad woke us up really early and had us run to the window REAL QUICK so we could see the pink elephants flying down the street!!!!
We ran as fast as we could to get a glimpse of such a parade, and as we got to the window *sans* elephants, we turned and saw our Dad guffawing at us.
I think I shall call him and give him a good one tomorrow.
