I don't think I would end up and get one, simply because I think at age 80, I'd look ridiculous with it. But I've often wanted one.

On the serious side...... or not, whatever..... A sister who got df'd first thing she did was get a tattoo on her ankle. I saw her afterwards (yes I got my hair cut by her and I was not df'd at the time) and saw the tatoo.... I was a little envious.
I have always wanted one, but never dared. Then I became a JW..... now I am not..... and wonder what I would get...
Anybody got a good idea?

As far as looking and wondering who is a JW and who is not..don't bother..you are so above that now..They are the ones with the hang ups not you. Let them worry about who they think is or isn't df'ed
I must have given the wrong impression. I am not worried about them. I was thinking to myself as this woman passed me by: "if she knew I was JW, she'd take back her smile." And I thought: "how sick is that!!???"
I thought about how in a business transaction, if they were all friendly and nice, how it would all of a sudden change if they (ooo heebee jee-bees now) found out I was df'd (aghast! eeek).
I feel like a person walking outside myself, watching. Looking. And like outcast said, knowing that the JW lady would be thinking of how to approach me in order to convert me.
I also wonder what I will say to the one that finally tries her "informal" sneak attack.

I am disfellowshipped. Whoa. I just wrote that as the first thing. Like thats "who" I am. Is that how I view and value myself? But its the first thing I think of day in ..... and day out.
I didn't even mean to start a post about this. I totally intended to write about a letter I got from a relative the other day. But now, this is the matter at hand.
How do I get past this sad time? I don't think I can ever go back now. I know too much, I know too much truth. And it means I have lost my friends.
I have no friends here where I live anymore, no relatives within hundreds of miles. No support system. Except one friend and he lives over 1000 miles away.
At what point will I wake up and not think of JW's? At what point will I walk into a grocery store and think "I wonder if they are a JW and know that they are smiling at a df'd person". I wonder when I will go to my favorite children's store despite the fact that one of the elder's wives works there? When will JW's stop coloring my life?
When will I stop being frightened I am making a mistake?

Winning Oscar Means Disgracing Yourself
by Spartacus inat least denzel washington came forth to say that his role in "training day" was a character to which he immensely hated portraying, and it was very difficult for him to act out the role of a villian in a character he just loathed to the core.
halle berry on the other hand, as shown by her response is extremely over joyful for the winning of best actress in "monsters ball".
" the 33-year-old actress, a former beauty queen, glamerized herself for her role in "monsters ball" as a dispirited waitress and mother who falls in love with a white prison guard who she doesn't know has helped put her husband in the electric chair.".

"The Gladiator" is one of my favorite movies but I think just about any actor with a build could have done what Russell did in that flick.
That movie was so well produced and looked very authentic, that was certainly a team effort in that movie. The Director and the Money spent on that movie for all the excellent props and design of the fight scenes made that movie great. Heck even Arnold Swartzennagger could have done it in that flick.Drats, Sixy, you beat me to this quote!
I have the DVD for Gladiator and I love the movie, and I agree, its not an Oscar for Crowe. And Proof of Life? No way. I didn't see his new one this year. But Denzel? Did he deserve it for this movie, No Way!!
Denzel played much better roles in Hurricane and Fallen. I saw Hurricane recently on DVD and loved it. Fallen is a great movie if you haven't seen it. Saw if before I got df'd and surely wasn't discussing the flick with others.......but now I can!

Questions From Readers-Complete Immersion?
by Mister Biggs inmust one get baptized (complete immersion) no matter how severe their handicap?.
(paragraph 2, sentence 3..."since baptism by complete immersion is a scriptural requirement, humans have no authority to exempt someone from baptism.".
my thoughts: what elder/co/do will dare take a risk in exempting one from baptism if they have been told by the society that no human has the authority to do this?

Ever straight out lied to the elders faces?
by MarchOn indid you ever get busted for something that you really did do when you were a dub and get hauled in, just to sit there and deny what you were brought in for?
and then feel really good and not quilty when you pulled it off because they believed you?

Oh I like that reasoning........I shoulda said something like that!
I have seen so many elders, servants and pioneers get away with so much and no one says a durn thing....
