well, my fluff thread on eggs went over pretty well, so i thought i would start one on bacon.

now, of course, bacon and eggs go together.

develop and design merchandise to be offered through silentlambs.responsible to coordinate sales and shipping for merchandise.negotiate competitive pricing for such materials.responsible for approval of posters and banners used to represent silentlambs.responsible to train assistants how to do your job.. i have some ideas that i would like to bounce off of you.

It would be much easier to promote a "Bill Bowen Action" figure, than to defend a JW/GB INACTION figure!

But, I must say that You Know's constant "Bill is out for selfish gains" mentality to be fraudulant at best, and the only intention that he has with that mentality is to try and divert attention from the effort itself.

Please provide one scrap of evidence to support your theory that Bill (or anyone that supports the SilentLambs movement) is out for Selfish gains. Please Prove that there intentions are anything but honerable in thier fight to bring some "change" to the WTBS, and or support to those that are victims.

Actually, nevermind. We already know that you cannot. You have yet to prove anything that you have ever stated.

There are certain words which are "untranslatable" in EVERY language.

Well said, lisa.

Oddly enough, this is absolutely true for the majority of PROPER NAMES.

Even those that have "translations", the translated name is NOT the "name" of the original person.

For example: Anthony and Antonio... while the name is the "same" as translated, if you called me "Antonio" I would not know you were addressing me, "Anthony".

However, in nearly all Languages, a "Title" (GOD, LORD, God, Lord, etc...) almost allways means the same thing.

You do understand, do you not, that the use of brackets themselves are an admission that the word enclosed has been added to complete the sense of a passage, as the translator understands the passage? Where is the dishonesty in that?

Actually, many translators would use footnotes in that case, so as to preserve the original text. The "dishonesty" occurs when there is no justification for the words other than the translaters INTERPETATION of a specific passage. This is where translation and interpetation differ. In the case of the WTBS and the NWT, it is has been clearly shown that the translators BIAS (torward a specific theology) was in full force when adding these additional words, thereby intentionally changing the meanings of the texts. The Dishonesty comes later, when it becomes evident that NO TRANSLATION can be "trusted" to be accurate.

(Note: I am not saying that the NWT is the only translation guilty of this, it just happens to be the topic at hand.)

You're what is called "a hopeless case".

The same statement applies to you. The difference is my faith does not depend on the Bible or any "earthly organization" for support. In fact, my faith exists despite the best efforts of others, like you, to trounce it.

the watchtower society often tells of how important the name "jehovah" is because it is used about 7,000 times in the hebrew scriptures.

there is some credibility to their logic as it suggests where priorities are.

using this approach, let's examine their "priorities" with respect to apostates vs pedophiles:.

Another intersting "stat" that I looked up once before...

They have only talked about Luke 21:8 ONCE in the past 50 (or so) years (and that was in the 50s).... not much of a "Bible Student" if you can conveniently skip verses like that...(Especially considering that those were Christ's specific words of warning to the followers)...

What fun..

...and for that name then to be conspicuously absent from the Greek Scriptures gives "reason" to know that the Greek Text needs reworking...,

And yet, the WTBS maintains that God ensured that the scriptures were faithfully maintained and allways exactly what they were supposed to be... and that the writers were inspired of God to write them to begin with... yet the WTBS has the audacitiy to question the original writers and translaters while making these statemtents....

You also did not address my questions..... not that i am really concerned with your answers.

Translators are irresponsible when they replace the Tetragrammaton with another word ("LORD") that veils the fact that God has a personal name.

So is it also true that translators are just as irresponsible when they replace the Tetragrammaton with any name that may/may not be God's personal name?

Is it just as irresponsible when the translators insert bracketed words "[other]" that do not appear in the original text, and only serve to change the original intended meaning of a passage?

Is it just as irresponsible when writers of publications intentionally misquote sources in an effort to prove a point?
