i no longer have a need for my collection of materials, and thought i would offer it to the members of this board prior to ebay.. i would like to sell it "intact", but will entertain all serious offers.

a couple of books that are not on this list that i will throw in to the buyer ->miracle in stone - joseph siess - 1874 (reffered to by russel in the studies)communication with the spirit world of god - greber (1987 ed -- we all know about greber and the wtbs)miracle of the agese, the great pyramid - worth smith (1934 - autographed/inscribed by the author)pyramidology book 1- adam rutherford.

a) the high priest thought jesus was preaching armed revolt against the romans.

Proof of the "historical" Jesus...

been wondering about this lately.... what proof (outside the bible, of course) do we have for the "historical jesus"?.

in my earlier days (post jw to "born again christian") i remember reading that the one thing that differentiates christianity vs. "all the others" was that we had secular historical proof that there was a man that was called jesus, who died on a cross and was resurrected.

now i am wondering just what that proof is/was?

can someone help me understand the chronology of the "144,000" doctrine of the wtbs?.

what i am looking for is quotes/pointers to the publications about:.

1. how they decided who was of this "special" class.. 2. when the cuttoff point was for being part of it.

One little lie spoils the whole thing....

one thing i remember the most about being "in the truth" was the basic premise that all other religious orgs on the earth at one time or another taught a lie (and or still was teaching lies).

this was the "crowning jewel" for the wtbs.

they never "lied".. in a recent conversation with an elder, he made mention of this again.
About the blood "law"...

i have been giving the blood issue alot of thought lately, and a "new" (to me anyway) approach to discussing why the wtbs is "wrong" on it came to mind.. i have found that discussing the "what does abstain really mean" and the "it was all about eating it, since the medical use didn't exist at the time" approach never truly works, you end up in an argument over words instead of meaning.. my thought:.

at times in the ot, did god withhold punishment for sins that were committed by the faithful?

if god could withold judgment for those sins, shouldn't the members of his "organization" do the same?
