that's the name of a brochure by the wts that tries to impress upon us why what god's name is and why we should use it.
we all know that jehovah's witnesses use the name "jehovah" for god in all their bibles and publications.
ok, let me make sure I got this straight... (after all, it's one of the things that sets them apart).

i just put my 2cents in by saying"make sure you do some research about the blood issue".
ok, so I stand corrected on the whole "Noah was a Jew" thing, but the "fact" remains that after the flood there was only 8 people left, so any prior law to seperate would have been useless, and it would've taken "some time" before the whole jew/gentile thing to come to fruition...Would Noah have even been alive at that point to create, or see into the future that some of his descendants would need decidedly different dietary laws?
So, exactly what would the point of "Noachian" law be?

Maybe it's only obvious to me, but:
It was believed that they were given by God to Noah either before the Flood or after the Flood and are thus binding on all Gentiles.
But were'nt the only people alive "after" the flood Jews?? What Gentiles wouldve "needed" these laws?
I musta missed the part where Noah took 2 Gentiles on the ark!

you've over complicated you're premise.... Yes, failing to critically analyze the statement of "christ's choosing the org in 1919" is a fundemental error, the problem with choosing that as "the mistake" is that the proof for it (christ's choosing the org) is highly subjective, and if you read the societies proof, it's quite convincing (self serving that it is).
No, the one mistake is quite simple....
Signing up for a "free" bible study from a door to door bible salesperson... and then never truly picking up the bible again.
The Bible alone disproves the Society's claims. A discerning eye will see these things... Luke 21 is more than enough warning for an honest "bible student".

Seems like regaurdless of who we follow, we are never "leading ourselves"...
Reality is that "evil is in the eye of the beholder" and civil societys have rules to follow... these rules are made by man, and follow a cultural flow... what once was good (slavery for example) is now evil.
One has to look beyond the extremes to see that good far outwieghs the evil in this world.
I am more concerned about a "God" that permitts sickeness and suffering... allows cancer and disease, even unto the "innocents" of the world.

last time some jws came (saturday) mum arranged for the brother the elder brought to come over and talk to me about the bible.
(i wasn't paying attention...).
anyway, he turned up today with another brother.
In one of the last "discussions about the organization" that I had with my (elder) father, he looked me square in the eye and asked me wether or not I knew that "Jesus was only the mediator for the 144K"....
So, from that I take it that "some" do understand the "current" Watchtower teaching, while others do not...
And they are "united" in worship, right?

The one distinction I can see to "ID" vs. "Creationism" is that generally the latter is associated with religous fundamentals, while the former allows for "a designer" without the need for religious backing...
I say that without any knowledge of ID outside of that contained in this thread, and only a cursery reading of the material in this thread.
I do agree with what others have said... that when it comes to the actual "origins" of Life/Man, it is a distinction without a difference.
recently the local congregation had the visit of the c.o.
the local needs talk he usually gives was replaced by a talk he said will be given to many congregations around the world.. this talk is targeting th very young.
kids are being strongly encouraged not to put off baptism and that children as young as 10 can make an informed decision to get baptized.
I've heard the same talk sort of, but it was given at the last assembly. They said that parents should not prevent their kids from getting baptized during their teen years because they're afraid their kids might do something that will get them disfellowshiped.
This is a kicker... The "fear of disfellowshipping" is "greater" than "committment to the org/love of god"...
This is the turn folks... this is where parents and individuals beat the organization.
