i have a scan of the cover of the 2008 watchtower witling only edition that i got from an active jw relative earlier today if anyone is interested in seeing it.

if someone wants to tell me how to do it i can post it or if anyone has access to a photobucket account i can e-mail the pic to you.
I bet the first one is going to address the issues the GB is most concerned about. They know that everyone will scour over the first copy excitedly ("oh isn't this wonderful! the GB have provided us with special watchtowers"). Once the new format is commonplace they won't pay as much attention.

How totally AWFUL. A child cannot attend a school dance? The Watchtower organisation is responsible for putting out into the world some really socially inept kids. If those kids do choose to leave the JW organisation, they are ill equipped to deal with REAL LIFE and more likely to go running back to the JW organisation, because its the only place they can feel "comfortable". Rather than really providing protection, the JWs just teach the kid that normality is JW life - and that is the biggest lie - JW life is far from "normal" and anyone raised a JW who leaves has some work on their hands to function in life.

I've also just adopted a guide dog puppy. Guide Dogs for the Blind need people to look after their puppies until they're ready to be trained as Guide Dogs (approximately 12 months old). I have, in the past, made the decision to ensure that I didn't get pregnant due to lack of money coming into the household - I knew that it would be difficult to provide for that child.
Now I probably can afford it, I'm already in the category of "clock ticking" - declining fertility rates. And why? Because losers like this family shell em' like peas and we all have to f**king well pay for it!

Take the house off them, and give them four large tents in which to live. Then give them the BASICS on which to live (e.g. a very basic food allowance and fresh water). Then lets see how soon they and the kids start working.

i was at a friends tonite, and read a bit on jihadist cretins in saudi arabia, who have banned george orwells "animal farm" because the farm ends up run by pigs.. godly honest - hearted moslems are also seeking to ban piglet, and charlottes web from schools.. apparently the eyes of innocent moslem babies cannot be defiled by reading about unclean animaux taking over the world, but.
they can go to market to shop with mommy and see starving thieves having their hand sawn off (but humanely given a novocaine shot in the arm so they can watch but not feel it).

My opinion is that we do the following
* respect anyone's right to believe in God or Gods
* not have to deride them for believing
* make sure that if they behave in a way that is harmful to others (due to their belief in god) that this is NOT tolerated
Religious tolerance has its limits, but we still don't need to ban all religion and mock all believers.

when i was jw, i didn't know any vegetarians.
they had the teaching that god had allowed us to eat animals, so we just eat animals.
no questions asked.. just recently i started to consider being vegetarian.

Sounds like a great book. If I see it at the bookshop, I will buy it.
I have read the God Delusion.
My only issue here is that everyone seems to want to lump "religion" and "those who believe in (a) God(s)" together.
Someone can be spiritual and believe in existence of gods without being a religionist. You are throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
Its probably one of those books where atheists say "See! Believing in God is stupid!"
