i thought after 7 years out i had done a pretty good job of getting my mind free of the jws.. then yesterday i went on youtube and typed in jehovah's witness.
after watching a few apostate videos, i came across a pro-jw video of a convention.
as i started the video and they started singing "we thank you jehovah" i got a mega wave of nausea and felt like i had to switch the thing off.. has this happened to you?

of course, as witnesses, everything was possibly "demonized".
if you got anything second hand, you could be in demon trouble.
if you saw a horror movie or read anything by stephen king, you were inviting the demons to you.
Someone said something about fear and ignorance.
As an ex-JW the truly scary thing was facing up to the spirits who I'd been taught were "demons". Having seen spirits since I was young I'd been taught that what I'd seen were evil.
As for ignorance, just because someone believes in spirit or God doesn't mean they're ignorant.

i'm not after a discussion on the rights or wrongs on abortion, what i'm asking is whether or not your views have evolved over time.. perhaps leaving the watchtower was enough to allow your true feelings on abortion to find expression.
maybe abortion is one of those subjects where you still find yourself in agreement with your old jw self.
did becoming a mother change your perspective in any way or solidify your views?.

if you were pregnant and told that you would likely die from the pregnancy, are you saying you would not abort?

i was hoping silent lambs would resist the money and push for the exposure of the criminals.
instead they cave in to the gag order and they took the money and ran!
There is an amazing amount of evidence that the WTS is corrupt. They changed their bible to suit, they lie about their history (numerous false predictions!), they use mind-control tactics.....the information is there if you are truly open minded.
You say you will leave if you get actual proof regarding the child abuse issue. Frankly, I don't believe you. There is so much evidence out there of the corruption of the JWs you shouldn't need anything more.
Buy the court documents if you need proof.

Well I disagree completely with all the people on here who refer to it as "murder". All I can say to you lot is stop sensationalising things by using words like "murder".
Having said that, I think it is wrong to abort a fetus just because you made a mistake and don't feel like having a baby.
However I think abortion is justified if the mother is very young (under 16) or if there is a danger to mother or baby, or indeed, if the baby is severely deformed.
Some people have had an abortion because it was the only option available to them - the baby was severely deformed, or the mother was at risk of death.

I am not a spirit medium and I don't make any efforts to contact the dead. I've considered pursuing it more seriously, but just haven't for one reason or another. That said, I do meditate and I take part in rituals (pagan). At Samhain (Halloween) we perform a ritual where the dead are invited to join us. At these rituals in the past I have seen actual spirits within the circle (those with some kind of psychic gift also saw the spirits, sometimes it was good to compare notes afterwards. Once I saw a tabby cat spirit walking around and I thought it was wierd, but afterwards some of the others said "did you see that tabby cat?")
I had communication once from my ex-husband's granny who had only just died. She told me something I could not have known and the message only made sense weeks later, after the funeral. It was very specific and I can see no explanation other than she actually did communicate with me. The communication was almost instantaneous - quick flashes of images in my head and I "knew" the message.....it was not a "voice" or anything like that.

for the past 5 months i have been in a wonderful relationship.
he and i had started out as friends a few years ago, but realized that we were attracted to each other while he was going through his divorce earlier this year.
he and his now ex wife are both jws .
We haven't been "trevored" cos it was too pathetic an attempt.
