i know i'm asking this early but i feel it would be good to put the feelers out now.. obviously, it would have to be a location easy to get to - so that means stornoway is out!

We need to know who is arriving on Friday. I would love some suggestions on a Friday venue. I think Friday should just be a pub meetup with food (and we'll take it from there).
Saturday is the big night and I think we should maybe have a meal and then go out. If we can I will arrange the Ghost Tour.

We need some type of agenda for the weekend, but particularly the main night, Saturday.
I don't know Edinburgh at all so I'm at a loss where to suggest!

When something is proven scientifically, the scientists take SAMPLES of the population to test. It is accepted that given a large enough sample of appropriately random participants (varying ages and sexes) then you can apply the result to society as a whole, albeit with a small margin of error.
Its impossible to measure the entire population every time we want to measure something.

i am sitting here trying to figure this all out.
i know this is a subject that has probably been discussed before in one way or another.
however, there is a slight touch on it as my mind is going a million miles a second.
When I was a witness I was taught that Jesus did have a physical body when he was resurrected. I was told it was a temporary body which he appeared in.
I don't recall being told it was a spirit body.

sorry no offense but why do some ex-witnesses here join another group....we have a muslim {muhamed was given a koran by an angel in a cave?
}....we have some baptists etc......i researched the bible and found there are 1,000's of gospels not part of the bible...so what's the deal...."fool me once shame on you..fool me twice shame on me" or do you have a reason for continued belief in religion...i really wan't to know since iam agnostic and don't believe in god or evolution????

Not all organised religion is classed as "cult".
Personally I like to use cult evaluation scales to assess a group. Was it Milner who did the 8 point cult scale? I forget.
As Satanus said, if you are part of a group who allow you to make your own decisions, who allow you to hold dissenting views (without bad consequences), who don't demand obedience to a set of their rules (or you risk being thrown out of the group), who encourage you to read outside of the religion and who don't teach there is only "one way" - then I'd say you can safely say you are not in a cult.
My pagan group was not a cult but it was what you could term "organised religion"

There is nothing wrong with joining a church, IMO.
There is something wrong with joining another CULT.
If an ex-cult member joins another cult then it would be a "fool me twice" situation.
As for me, I'm pagan and part of no group. I used to be part of a pagan group though, and I simply made certain that what I was doing was purely what I wanted and I wasn't controlled in any way.
I applaud people who join balanced groups, if they feel like being part of something.

i just disassociated myself after nine long years in the wtbts after researching the history of the wtbts and its founders and their lies, false prophecies and mind-control doctrines.

anyway, i'm glad there is a wonderful support group for those who have escaped the grasp of the wtbts and enjoy life again without the constant fear that the wtbts instills at every meeting.
