i thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.

i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!

she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .

I dislike your saying it's my fault that I have been treated badly by men in my life, this was not very nice of you and beneath you if you actually want a logical debate and as well as being a weak arguement, because it's like saying if I have bad experiences in JW's it's Jw's fault but if I have bad experiences outside of JW's its my fault, that arguement just doesn't make any sense.

Please read the page I put up above, or type in "personal responsibility" into google.

If you have bad experiences they are a reflection of your choices. This doesn't mean that the other person is innocent, it just means you need to accept your own responsibility.

Totally correct.

Reniaa can't accept her own responsibility in her failed relationships, she just blames "the world" and "men". She can't see that she PICKED the guy in the first place and allowed him into her life....allowed him to impregnate her. Of course none of this bad stuff is anything to do with Reniaa

I honestly feel sorry for anyone whose life is so bad that they think going back to the JWs would be a good thing.

so 2 weeks ago i went to my 2 day ca.. this had lots of interesting tid-bits, like the wt summary of the generation change.

the conductor said that if we were listeing to jesus speak we would have known he was speaking about us!

then he followed with "and thats probably what they understood too" - i couldnt believe he actually said probably.. anyway, at the end of sunday the do came about and went into a bit about all the things the org has done for us.

a couple of movies I don't get

i watched "children of men" a couple of nights ago.

it was pretty interesting, but i have to say i didn't get it completely.

maybe because i missed the beginning.

Fight club was SUPERB! I love fight club. By the way, who else noticed the hidden (subliminal) images in fight club? They flick on screen for a split second and you have to pause your DVD to see they're quick flashes of penises! ROFL!

The matrix films...well the first matrix was my favorite film for a long time. I just loved all the religious references and "saviour" stuff - lots to think about and the first time I saw it WOW I was blown away! I enjoy all the zen stuff in the matrix films and its a good combination of that and action.

LOTR I love because I always loved the story since I read it when I was a kid.

Children of men was great too.

The village - admittedly not great but the idea was OK. Lots of references to cult living... the idea that the elders were trying to protect them but they'd really taken away their freedom and knowledge.

Now HOSTEL that was disturbing in a really fun way and I really liked that film. It made you think because it was based on actual events... urgh!

I'm a film addict pretty much.

Other unbelievably superb films are The shawshank redemption and American History X.

Now SHREK....very funny but I still don't get it LOL I mean...talking donkeys?

while i was sitting one night with a poet friend watching a great opera performed in a tent under arc lights, the poet took my arm and pointed silently.

why does the universe exist?

Extremely interesting read.

The behaviour of particles / waves over great distances (and when observed) is something which convinces me that some type of "communication" is also possible over great distances as "extra sensory" communication.

Where do you start to find the answers to God?

i thought i have relatively had everything figured out, like life, death, god does he exist or does he not.

is the bible make believe?.

can we really be sure that it is inspired, after all we were not around to see the process being done.

I'm not sure that you think so, but it seems you are in a great place right now.

Its fantastic to be where you are. There is so much to find out and so much fun in the finding out!

This could really be an endless search.

It is! and personally I love it. I love the fluidity and endless possibility.

I've been exploring for years now. Sometimes I would become fixated on one aspect of the whole subject, usually for approximately 3 months. Then years later, it becomes clear why I needed that knowledge. Its quite cool really. So I wouldn't worry if I were you....just learn and read and assimilate. God doesn't have a clock ticking on you where you have to know all the answers by a certain time.
