How Long Will ARMAGEDDON Last?

according to the jw doctrine, can armageddon happen any day now?

is it possible that it could happen tomorrow?.

It is very simple if you are believing JW.

The UN will attack religion which starts the Great Tribulaton that Jesus spoke about...the UN will continue to destroy religion and the bible says false religion will go down "in one hour" meaning a very short peroid of time.

The JW's will be the last religion and Satan will egg on his army to attack these defenceless people and then Jehovah steps in...this is the start of Armageddon where Jesus and the angels, along with the natural elements will destroy all non-believers and abyss Satan and his demons.

Again this would be a rather short peroid of time.

So the answer, according to the WT has always been that the Great Tribulation and Armageddon will be a very short time peroid.

Matthew 24:34: "Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened."

The GB explaination on this scripture:

"How, then, are we to understand Jesus’ words about “this generation”? He evidently meant that the lives of the anointed who were on hand when the sign began to become evident in 1914 would overlap with the lives of other anointed ones who would see the start of the great tribulation."

I am still waiting for why this is "evident" that Jesus meant this...leaps of logic indeed except there is no logic...

They are human...when on their own they may think bad thoughts, say wrong things etc like any other sinful creature...

HOWEVER, as a GROUP they claim to be God's Channel and they CAN NEVER fall foul to being wrong so whenever they come together and the Holy Spirit guides them, then, as a GROUP, they will never be wrong.

Hmmmmmmmm seems their claim to be God's Channel is false.

In summary, yes they are men and when acting like men/husbands they are imperfect but when acting as the GB/FDS they can never be wrong UNLESS God/HS is wrong...

Nicely put LostGeneration.

The GB used to print new truths and explain why they think it is so...this crazy explanation of the overlapping generation is all taken from one scripture that mentions no overlapping yet they say "Jesus evidently meant...".

And dubs accept it because they believe the GB are God's Channel. But how will they convince newbies that the GB are FDS since they now never back up their points with research, proof and logic.

It is actually beyond comprehension to me how people can accept these new truths with no proof as to why they are true...

I see what you are saying EndofMysteries about how they could now have a massive gap in the GT and the Big A but I don't think that is the point of their article....they are basically scarying the flock by saying ticktock the time is nearly up since the second overlapping generation is well advanced in years since they had to be anointed and live at the time of the anointed of the first overlapping group...

Disagree really EndofMysteries...the WT has always said that the GT will be "relativley short"...they have said in the past that it wouldn't make sense for it to last months and months...and as far as I know they have not changed that...it is widely accepted the GT will be very fast as Babylon The Great is done away with "in one hour"...

So I feel the change of overlapping generations of anointed followers rather than overlapping births/deaths is the biggest thing here...but that is my opinion...I'm sure I can find a quote from the WT on the GT being quite short if I had access to the CDROM...I'll look it up later.

It is a huge change as I've asked lots of dubs about it...they say the overlapping generation meant to them that as the first lot died someone who was 1 year old lived at the time of that persons death and became anointed and carried the overlapping generation on...

But now they are stating two things.

1) It is NOT overlapping in terms of lifespans but in actual STATE OF BEING ANOINTED

2) The second lot won't die as the Big A will be here

What this does is greatly reduce the amount of time left in their eyes...of course the GB 2.0 wll need to revise his soon again...which is excellent for people who like us who used to swallow this crap but now tell others what a heap of nonsense it is...

Let us be clear on this as the Jan 15th study edition is a huge change yet again to this overlapping generation idea...

It is NOT an overlapping generation in terms of birth and death...it is NOT for instance that someone who was alive in 1914 and understood what was occurring overlaps in their life with someone now who is anointed and sees the end...

No no...it is someone who WAS ANOINTED AT 1914 (so had to be at least 18 years old right?) who then overlaps with some today who WAS ANOINTED when they lived alongside the first guy and THIS ANOINTED person will see the end.

Thus if the guy at 1914 was 18 and anointed he was born in 1896...if he lived till 90 say then he dies at 1986...that would mean the overlapping anointed person would need to be anointed prior to 1986 to qualify as overlapping so let us say extraordinarily an 18 year old is anointed at 1986 that would mean he was born in 1968.

It is 2013, that person is now 45 years old and he will see the end.

But of course that is using extremes of 18 years old and being anointed which is highly unlikely, as is 90 years old for the death of the first anointed guy. What this means is the age of the anointed second person will actually be MUCH OLDER than the minimum of 45 years old HENCE why they say in the article that second overlapping generation are already advanced in years...

And what this means to a dub is just one thing...the Big A is right here...on the brink...they should be getting super excited about this article...

I know I am but for a different reason...because when nothing happens they will have to readjust AGAIN the generation teaching.

Remember, they get all of this from just this scripture:
