Athiesm is not a belief system...much like OFF is not a TV channel or NOT going skiing is my hobby...
It is simply a lack of belief in a God in the first place to then make a decision whether to believe in him or not...
i recently posted a post telling this board my athesit coworker stumped me with questions about the validity of the ark story and i just cannot stop talking to her.
i love hearing her side and point of view which in the past i would have dismissed as "satanic" thinking.
she has some very good questions and i am having a hard time answering them.

87 year old sister (who's current husband, a total nazi one foot in the grave) was excited to relate that (she heard) a talk at the regional convention said a wife would be happy to meet her ressurected husband and grab him in her arms!
she reads that as reunion of the married kind.
she is pooping skittles she's so happy.
Cough....threesome...Cough
fusion with god natural .
in the cosmos universe or whatever.
all things are made of the same materials etc so humans will always be fused with the universe in life and death because those building blocks are eternal.
I knew I should have looked on this forum earlier than I have...7 pages!!!
i don't even know what the bloody event is called anymore.
i think it's still a district convention until it goes to two days, isn't it?
my convention program leaflet just says "convention of jehovah's witnesses", seemingly intentionally avoiding the change in wording.
Panda Petting Paradise...that made me laugh at loud!!!
news.
the preaching work was finished in the 1st century before the destruction of jerusalem, the temple and the old covenant.. this is confirmed by messiah and the apostles themselves.
i quote jesus.
Or the bible is a product of fiction and none of is it true and we should all live our lives as best as we can by loving our family and friends...not hard is it.
some of you are probably a bit tired of me promoting these history books, but im doing it again.
1. nelson barbour: the millenniums forgotten prophet.
de vienne is not.
So the author who is a JW...does his book go against the doctrines of the society? Are these books therefore pro JW? If not how does he rationalize being a JW but write the true history of JW's????
they key to free yourself from the organization is having mental clarity of what is happening in relation to the watchtower, inside and out.
their basic concept is that they are god's sole organization on earth.
there really is no basis for anyone to make that statement.
The OP is right...as soon as you realise that the FDS are not the sole channel of communication by God and that he would never use them then the house of cards come tumbling down very fast because it is amazing to see how many of the core doctrines we use to believe that came from the FDS without scriptural evidence (evidently Jesus meant an overlapping generation..evidently meaning based on evidence...where is the evidence?) that we just accepted on the premesis that they were chosen...
Once you hit that point you will fade fast...I did.
over the decades, there were many watchtower publications with misprints on the cover.
here are the corrected versions.. .

"At the moment" Bible Teach book...brilliant!!!!!
i am sure we have all seen the recent letter to the boe concerning the change that will take place to the meeting arrangement during the week of the co visit.
to recap the basics: the meeting that usually contains the cong bible study (book study) and a co talk will be discontinued, publishers are encouraged to use their family worship night that week to cover book study material.. so here is a point that i think has been missed, or not even considered:.
if that particular meeting is hereby deleted from the schedule, the co and his wife will never ever have to participate in or go to another "book study", or "bible study" night again.
Steamroll? Still think like a JW? Oh my...you don't like my points so you try to discredit the person...I know that tactic from somewhere...pathetic.
What is the Yes or No answer to this question: Is encouraging publishers of no concern to all CO's?
You claim the answer is Yes. All I'm saying is the answer is No.
End of.

Not really wanting to get into a war on words but....
You said " If you look only for opinions that match your pre-conceived ideas you won't learn much. Step out of your comfort zone and listen to those that have seen a thing or two."
That implies I haven't...or that you know more.
.
.
You say: "I f I've experienced it personally, then it's true."
So if you came to my house and it rained all day and you went back home and said to your family "it rains all the time there" then that is true because you experienced it? That statement may be true to you but it is not fact. All CO's to you may be cold company men and that is true in your experience but it is not fact.
.
.
I understand the bigger picture and agree 100% with you about the religion in general etc but that is not my point. I get fed up of people beating down on the WT by using general statements which are untrue and ironically these very ones complain when the WT makes generic statements. It is a religion, like the rest of them, it has major bad points...but it also has good, geunine people. Now that in itself doesn't make it good but to help others out by making generalised statements won't work because it shows a bitterness.
.
.
You say: " Sometimes calling a spade a spade is precisely the wake-up call a JW needs."
Wishful thinking but research into the cult thinking would be against you on that. We all know showing evidence that the WT is a fake to a dub is utterly pointless.
.
.
DATA-DOG you say: " but ADCMS is right because at the end of the day, NO C.O is going to fall on their sword for a lowly R&F."
That is correct in terms of a CO will not fall for the dub but that was not the point ADCMS made, he said "Encouraging the factory workers (Publishers) is of no concern to a CO. "
That statement is wrong...there are plenty of CO's and Elders who genuinley care about people.
.
.
And that is my beef because if I was just starting to fade and I read that I pick up that this guy has issues with the WT and therefore no matter what he says he is like a bitter and twisted apostate and thus I slip back in...that is not the way to get people out of this cult.
