i've been studying the 2520 days/years 607/587/586 debacle.
for a while now i have felt 1914 was wrong.
If the WTS heads one day say we were wrong about 607 BCE, he in turn will say the same.
Well they have done so already...it was originally 606 according to the WT.
It's like me saying I'm 21 only to read my birth certificate and see I'm 22 then adjust my date of birth rather than accept I'm 22.

This thread perfectly highlights why you cannot discuss objectively facts that show the WT is wrong with mentally in JW's.

Scholar has been arguing for the WT's chronology on this site for years, probably decades. He rarely comments on any other topic.
And still gets it wrong and shows Cognitive Dissonance.
the thread about old timers got me thinking about trends i see with the watchtower.
i've changed my opinion about where the organization stands.
when i joined the religion in 1973 it was dynamic, even the small congregation i attended sent out three or four pioneers.
As with all cults time is their enemy...it proves them wrong....and if they reinvent then just further proof they were wrong in the first place.

He is wrong in that video...it is dangerous to be wrong on this subject. Research and facts are important and his video can easily be refuted.

It is poor journalism, they were never revoked, it was just a possible consequence...the writer hastily wrote the update.
whether they go back to door-to-door or not, what will be different?
do you think there will be a noticeable drop-off in attendance as we have read on here that many have left or faded?

I prefer to stay away from "ad hominem" ie not focus on the person but rather the message itself. I don't know Lloyd and certainly am not in 100% agreement with certain things but I still give his videos some attention and ones I do not want to view I simply avoid.

Sorry but it is not a tweak it is a fundamental change to doctrine. They believed the separation would happen at the GT but now it is happening now, that's a big change and indeed is like pre 1995.
What it does is add more fear to the JW's that they must right now be sheeplike.
