Australian Royal Commission mentions that G. Jackson was inconsistent
by Daniel1555 init's great that the following is officially mentioned in the royal commission's report:.
when asked if the governing body members saw themselves as ‘jehovah god’s spokespeople on earth’, mr geoffrey jackson answered that it ‘would seem to be quite presumptuous to say that we are the only spokesperson that god is using’.
mr jackson’s response seems to be inconsistent with the documentary evidence before the royal commission, which shows that jehovah’s witnesses believe that the governing body is the ‘channel’ by which jehovah’s ‘will’ is communicated to them..

You know it's time to give up the JW religion when your route call tells you to
by jambon1 inlasting memory of the latter period of time in the organisation:.
i had a route call with the magazines whom i'd called on for a number of years.
eventually when i become a parent i became consumed with negativity, doubt (blood issue) & depression.

Mental issues are increasing in the world...but it seems more so in the JW land.
As I have mentioned to many who are still in, it is the fact they are trying to live up to something you cannot really do.
No-one, not one JW can do everything that is asked/forced on them.
Think about it.
- Meetings
- Ministry
- Study
- Prayer
- Conventions
- Reading daily the bible
- Prepare for meetings
- Family Worship
- Visit Bethel
- Show hospitality frequently
- Donate money frequently
- No sex out with marriage
- Curb what you watch, listen to or read
When a JW fails in one of these areas and then they hear about or read about how a JW can do it in these fake magazine examples they instantly feel like they are not worthy, not good enough...always striving but never getting there.
This is why JW's suffer mental issues or burnout.
Once they learn to exit as we did, relax and enjoy our lives as we should then life is much happier!

Official Increase in the Number of Jehovah's Witnesses You Shouldn't Trust
by David_Jay inreports are coming from witnesses that, once again, the number of memorial partakers has risen considerably this past year, 2016. while confirmation is still to come on the exact numbers, the current explanations given for this increase surely causes a dilemma.. imagine the roman catholic church publishing each year the number of members who it felt were mistaken about what they believed in, that this same number of members was likely suffering from problems such as pride or even mental disorders or something along this line.
this number, by the way, was in the thousands too and growing annually.
what would you conclude, therefore about the catholic church and its admission?.

They will, at some point, say that the anointed are only the ones on the GB, everyone else is not anointed.

Why is religion in general so obsessed with what people choose to do with their willies and vaginas?
by jambon1 inwhat was it in the evolution of religion that got them so hung up about what people do with their genitalia?.
i mean, the (mis)use of genitalia is up there with murdering another human being in terms of badness.. and in the 21st century, we have a situation where in the jw religion, it's deemed as acceptable for three middle aged/old men to sit a teenage girl down and ask her the details of her use of her genitals.
to any normal person this is intrusive, completely inappropriate and bordering on deviancy.. why they so obsessed?.

So the governing body is NOT inspired...are they still "spirit directed"?
by NikL inokay there has been lots of buzz about the feb 2017 wt where they say the governing body is not inspired nor infallible.
yet, they are still using the baptism questions.
the second one being... "do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of jehovah’s witnesses in association with god’s spirit-directedorganization?".

Spirit directed and inspired are the same thing...if the GB are wrong they cannot be directed by God or his spirit.
I can't see how you cannot be inspired but directed by God and yet still err in doctrines and policies.

Something funny about Armageddon
by evilApostate inyears ago, when i was still a publisher, i had a very interesting conversation with a lady in the field service.
we were talking about punishment for sin and so on.
she believed in hellfire.

I could go on for pages...
You sure could, as could we...and the dubs could still explain it that satisfies them because the believe in the concept that it is "the truth" and the GB are selected by Jehoover....any facts, logic, reasoning that show this up are just ignored...cognitive dissonance at full pelt...

They get round that by saying "Jehoover knows the hearts of those who would accept and may save them at the Big A"
Of course, thousands die and thousands are born each day...chances are...out of 7 billion people...are you likely to hear from a JW who number 8 million?
I was 19 before I ever met one...

Interesting. Years ago, I think I remember them saying that their advancement in the worldwide preaching work was proof that the end was near. They would always reference the scripture I mentioned.
Yes we are both right..the scripture they use to prove the end very close is the one that talks about the good news being preached in all the earth...the JW's are doing this...they see themselves in nearly every virtual land and country.
But of course they can't speak to everyone...including the tribes etc...thus the scripture I quoted is what they use and they explain it by saying in the time of the end the preaching will increase until it is being preached in all the earth and then at some point, God will call time when it has been preached to his satisfaction because they will never cover the earth before Jesus comes at the Big A.

Matthew 10:23: "When they persecute you in one city, flee to another; for truly I say to you, you will by no means complete the circuit of the cities of Israel until the Son of man arrives."
The JW's teach that they will never "finish" the preaching work by contacting everyone...they say only when Jehoover is satisfied then it will end...but still requires them to preach as hard and urgent so that the most amount of people get preached to.
