The funny thing about the wife of the millionaire elder is that she has a huMONgous head. One time they did a family photo on the front of a WT and her head continued on the back cover.
It was priceless!!!
how lame was i that when i toured bethel many years ago, i was all giddy when i saw the old man who was "john" from the wtbts 'revelation' book?
"ooh!
it's the guy from the revelation book!

"OOH! Look! It's the guy from the Revelation book!", I exclaimed.
"Would you like to meet him?", said the tour guide.
"Sure", I responded like a kid about to get an autograph from his favorite athlete.
Also, there is an elder (PO, in fact) from my ex-congregation who is a millionaire. He and/or his wife and kid have graced the covers of WTs/Awake's several times. I guess if you donate enough you can have your 15 minutes of JW fame.
Any of you know anybody like this? Or, have you met any of the "stand-ins" who appear in cartoon fashion in the WTS publictions?
toward the end of last year, i joined bally's.
i confess that i have yet to go in 2006. but that all changes tomorrow!
back to the health club for me.. please feel free to post an exercise regimen that works for you.
UPDATE:
I know it's a little late on my part, but, I finally got to the gym tonight. I worked out 20 minutes on the elyptical machine (burned 325 calories). I know that it might be small stuff for some of you, but for me it denotes progress! ;o)
By the way, the water intake is working great for me!

So far I am two days without sweets. I've lost two pounds. I find that this is mainly because I am drinks tons of water.
The downside is that I have to wake up and go to the bathroom 3-4 times a night...LOL!
have you ever seen a "ghost"?
if you did, were you scared, fascinated or straight to denial?.
if you did see one, were you a jw at the time and therefore did you believe it to be an apparition projected by the demons?
Almost immediately after I stopped attending the meetings, I stopped believing in demons/ghosts/angels. I have absolutely no belief in the "supernatural".
When I was a JW, I was scared of the dark, I couldn't watch horror films or films about the supernatural (i.e., Poltergeist, Exorcist, vampire flicks, etc.). I always thought the demons would get me. And here I am a grown a$$ man!!! LOL!
Now, I have zero fear and I can sit through a scary movie and they don't scare me at all.
by the time i went to get my camera he was gone.. the other day the news had a picture of a cardinal here in ottawa.. i haven't seen a blue jay since i was a kid.
it has been raining since last night and the temperature is just above freezing so i am really surprised to see anything except ravens, pigeons and house wrens.
my window is just at the top of the tree tops so now i will be keeping an eye out the window a lot more otfen.. there is a poor sad looking soggy squirrel out there sitting on a branch too.. .
Blue Jays are all over here in southeastern Pennsylvania. I feed the squirrels peanuts and sometimes the blue jays swoop out of nowhere and steal the peanuts. LOL!
I saw a hummingbird for the first time a few months ago. Now that was a wonderful experience (for me).

Wow! These are some great suggestions! Already I have begun. I ate a moderate breakfast (without bread and butter...yay!!!) Tonight, I'm headed to the gym (after I eat dinner).
Beck ... I've missed you, my love. Everything is well?
G Money ... You are cut (a great physique). So, I know I can try your suggestions. And, if I can combine that with everyone else's suggestions, I will be well on my way to a healthier life!!!
Thanks again, all! And I am certain that anyone else reading this thread will benefit from the awesome tips you've all provided.

Thanks, liquidsky.
I am a relative novice when it comes to exercise. So, can you tell me what a "pilate" is? Um...and a Dance Dance Revolution? I feel so out of touch. LOL!!!

Hello. Hello. Hello.
Toward the end of last year, I joined Bally's. I confess that I have yet to go in 2006. But that all changes tomorrow! Back to the health club for me.
Please feel free to post an exercise regimen that works for you. Or, any recommended exercises that target typical problem areas (i.e., the stomach). And, if you have any good 7-day diets (or, any diet for that matter), feel free to share.
I like using the elyptical(?) machine for 15-30 minutes, the treadmill for 10-15 minutes, and 50 stomach crunches. I try to repeat this (at least when I was going consistently) regimen every other day. Feel free to share any tips for me, also!
Oh, and my biggest problem is my addiction to sweet foods (chocolate, cookies, and candy). Personally, I drink a lot of water, grape juice, and diet cola. I eat normal portions for my three squares. I don't eat a lot of bread, rice or potato chips, but I love french fries (I know: Bad, Brian!!!).
are you supposed to enjoy field service?
find joy in god's work?
i hated service, hated getting up early, hated wearing dresses/skirts,hated bugging people early on the weekend, hated "preparing" for service (all i did was read the little blurb on the inside of the awake lol) hated being grouped with elder ihatecoffeebreaks and sister letsdoonemoredooreventhoughits12.......one day brother ihatecoffeebreaks asked me why my time was dropping in service and i said "because i hate service" ( i mean i was taught to be honest right?
I hated field service.
Hated, hated, HATED it!!!
