For example, I once had a sister tell me I was gambling because I liked playing Skill Crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade. I then fired back a her: "You saw the R-rated movie 'Backdraft.' We're not supposed to watch R-rated movies." She told me I was playing a game of chance. She said her choice of movies was a matter of conscience.
I another one, I used to DJ JW "gatherings" and wedding receptions. I was playing a song called 'Girls Nite Out' by Tyler Collins. This brother came over to the turntables and said that by "playing this song, you are encouraging sisters to leave their husbands." smh
Please share some weird things you were counseled for.

There was once some talk about producing a disfellowshipping kit. It consisted of ear plugs so you couldn't hear the person, dark glasses so you couldn't see them and even a gag to stop you speaking to them.

Just lost one more friend
by paradisebeauty ini used to talk weekly on skype, with a sister from another country.
i didn't tell her much about my research and change of beliefs, until today ... in the conversations some doctrines came up and i told her i don't believe 1914, first, then i went on to tell her that i also don't believe there are 2 classes of christians, that i did not believe the government of the kingdom will be in heaven while the kingdom en earth, that i believe the whole kingdom will be on earth, and that from what i read, jesus was pretty clear that he will come back to earth, visibly.
the "god always had an organization" dogma was dropped and i told her it is not true, out of 9000 years of human history, it's not sure there were 1000 years when god had a loyal organization ..... i did not plan to tell her all this things, but it just happened, and things came up in the conversation... and once i dropped one bomb i dropped them all .... she said i do not sound like i am one of the jehovah's witnesses any more ... and even though we ended the call with "see ya" i have the feeling i will not hear from her any more ... .

When my best friend came out to me about the UN scandal, I went in defense mode. I reasoned, "There must be a logical explanation".
As time passed, the seed he planted had taken root and grew quickly.
Don't give up on your friend. It may take a while, but she may surprise you and actually look into what you dropped on her. After all, any ex-JW had to take some sort of initial step to get where they are today.

I didn't not address specifics out of fear...LOL! I lost any fear of JWs since the time I posted my real pic and real name on this very site about 6 years ago. I stopped living by their rules several years ago. Luckily, all of my closest friends also left. We are now closer than ever, even though they are back in Philadelphia and I am here in Brazil. Only my older brother is still deep within the JW corporation.
Also, I was at work...actually trying to work...when they popped in for a visit. Besides the fact that the young man seemed reallly sincere in wanting to know the "why", if I had rolled up my sleeves and talked JW turkey with them, it would have messed up the rest of my day. It was on a late Friday afternoon and I was less than an hour away from going home.
