But then on JW . ORG they have this:

...During their discussions, the branch representatives were aided by two letters from the Malawi government that they were able to show the school officials. One letter from 1997, actually addressed to Jehovah’s Witnesses in Malawi, gave formal recognition for Jehovah’s Witnesses to be exempt from singing the national anthem. The other letter, from 2017, encouraged educators to respect students’ freedom of religion.

I guess I'm just saying I find their tactics highly annoying. I picture them waving their papers and pointing at them saying, "See? It says right here that we have rights"!

But, when the government of Russia, for example, breaks up one of their banned meetings, they cry persecution.

So, they cry "persecution" by the locals because the government says they have a right not to sing the national anthem AND ecourages the educators to respect students' freedom of religion. And they cry "persecution" when a government bans their freedom of religion.

It's the same way the JWs view/use the media: It's true if it's favorable. It's false if it's critical.

it's taken from a blog and it has been translated by me from portuguese to english.12 jun 2017 - jehovah's witnesses obtained authorization from the municipality of redenção do gurgueia (pi) to proselytize in the elementary schools of the city between may and early june 2017. .

officially, the witnesses did an "educational work", with lectures, videos and they supplied study material.

The rest of the blog is conjecture on the part of the blogger:
They must have frightened the children with foresight of the end of the world, existence of hell, etc.

Obviously, they did not say anything about their condemnation of homosexuals (or did they?) or the shunning they do against those who leave the sect.

If, in Brazil, there was respect for the secular state, the Public Prosecutor's Office would request an investigation to find out who authorized this intellectual rape of children.

i was a jw for 11 years , came to know ttatt and wrote my disassociation letter 5 years ago.

since then i had been an atheist and trying all i can to spread awareness for “still in” members.

my wife and mom are still jws and i do get along with them perfectly.

I would simply tell him (Larry Williamson):

"Hey, Mr. Williamson. That whole JW thing? It didn't take".

He's got to be 80ish. He kind of looked like Farrakhan. He was the kindest soul I ever met in that religion. He wasn't at all like many die-hards. And when I was a kid, he always took me to Friendly's restaurant for ice cream whenever we worked out in service together. If anyone would ever have woken up, I imagine it would be him. I have lost touch with him as he moved away a long time ago.

What a dork I was. Good thing I never had to advise married couples . . . Now that I think about it, I did. Several are now divorced.

there were many addressed to me.

for example, i once had a sister tell me i was gambling because i liked playing skill crane (the machine where you have to try to pick up prizes like stuffed animals) at the arcade.

i then fired back a her: "you saw the r-rated movie 'backdraft.

I'll begin:

I had (have...He's not a JW anymore, either) a friend. He and his wife saw an R-rated movie. I asked him why it was rated R. He said it had offensive language. So, I said, "Then, why did you watch the whole thing? Shouldn't you have been offended?" (Meanwhile, I used to watch porn...lol. Such a hypocrite was I).
There was this kid named Mark. He was a teen. He wasn't baptized and he was into alternative rock and he sported kind of a grunge look. I counseled him about his "terrible" lifestyle.

Man, I was such a brain-dead JW drone!
