the worst thing that ever happened to me was when a chubby man with long blonde hair and glasses opened the door and said, "no!

I recently posted a news article about how a JW said they get dogs sicced on them or they get urine thrown on them.

The worst thing that ever happened to me was when a chubby man with long blonde hair and glasses opened the door and said, "No! NO! There IS no f--king God!"

Then he slammed the door.

Fortunately, I never "pissed" anyone off to the point where they wanted to,....well,....throw pee on me.

How about you? What's the worst that happened to you (or someone you personally knew)?

Let's see how bad the persecuiton really is.

Will the WTS Say that this News Article is from Satan?

at the recent district convention, it was hammered home time and again.. at the meetings, it is stated from the platform frequently.. the media is a tool of satan and we shouldn't believe everything we read about jws in the media.. however, in the wts' mind, only the negative media should not be believed.

but, if the media is positive, it will soon be printed in a wt magazine or read from the platform at a kingdom hall near you.. ----------------------------------------------.

However, in the WTS' mind, ONLY the NEGATIVE media should not be believed. BUT, if the media is POSITIVE, it will soon be printed in a WT magazine or read from the platform at a Kingdom Hall near you.

You might have heard the dog barking and an unfamiliar voice outside the house say: “Good morning . . . anybody home?”

You peep outside and you spot the umbrella in one hand and in the other, a bag and two magazines.

Oh my gosh! It’s those Jehovah’s Witnesses again.

What do we do? Hide and wish they would leave?

Shout and tell them we’re busy?

Or come back another time, when we know we wouldn’t be home?

Do we threaten them?

Or do we come right out and say that we are just not interested?

That works if we are indoors.

But what’s the tactic when we find them at the door awaiting our arrival, as was my experience last week.

I drove into my driveway, and there they were – two well-dressed young men.

My tactic has always been to engage those hardy witnesses in chat about everything . . . except the Bible.

So how old are you?

How long have you been doing this?

Where do you live?

How long have you been walking? etc., etc. and by the time we’ve gone through all that, it’s time to go.

Last Saturday, I decided to lengthen the script a bit. I asked them how they feel about people avoiding them and sometimes harshly rejecting them, sometimes even with threats to beat them.

The two very pleasant young men said some people even threaten to throw urine on them, or some set their dogs on them.

But that does not deter them.

These patient footsoldiers of God are determined to spread the Word as they see it. “There is so much sin out there,” one of them said with a wry smile and slight shake of the head.

The witnesses believe they are doing good and good will one day conquer evil.

The dollar or two I give for an Awake or Watchtower magazine, is not simply to get them to move on, but I do find some thought-provoking articles in both publications.

And even though I don’t share their doctrine, it is difficult not to admire their tenacity and perseverance. I applaud them.

I suppose that one day they too will get the reward they deserve.

Why Do JWs Only Preach In Poor/Middle Class Neighborhoods?

as my name suggests, i'm from nyc.

i've lived in every borough of new york and spent time at most of the local congregations until i finally decided that it was all for nothing (my recent posts on this forum explain why).

during this time, i noticed an interesting pattern - the jws only preach in poor to middle class neighborhoods.

I live in a suburb of Philadelphia. I've knocked on some doors that range from $500k to $1 million. Believe you me the dubs in this area are equal-door-knocker-opportunists.

Usually the high-class homes are considered "driving" territory. You usually had to drive your car in their driveway (at least 25 yards long) and park near their front door, get out (while the other two or three dubs would wait in the car) and knock on the door. Geez! It was SO embarassing!

badwillie did a search on the WEB of the names mentioned in the article but, SURPRISE! SURPRISE!, there is nothing to be found.

You'd think that a story THAT amazing would have received SOME sort of media/internet exposure.

Ever since I stopped believing the JW salespitch I haven't feared the so-called demons anymore.

This article, however, scared the crap outta me when I was reading it at the age of 17.

To scare more people, the WTS has it linked on their website under 'Young People Ask...'

How you can tell they've come back! or, timewasters....

i was just thinking, when i was a young teenager, i started an attempt to become fashion conscious.

i started noticing what people were wearing, even at the kh.

ok, especially at the kh!!!!.

Two things I would do:

1) I would pick out the three hottest looking women that day and wonder what sex with them would be like

2) I would draw cartoons of the goofiest looking people (there were many to choose from) on the back of field service slips and hand them to people who would do the same.

First Concert!!

is going (with my best friend) to the summer sanitarium concert tomorrow night in the s.f.

bay area.. she's seeing metallica, linkin park, and limp bizkit!!!!
