  Shaklee and Long Distance Telephone Plans

  i just had a random recall about jws and what they used to peddle.. in my area of pennsylvania (usa), there was a brother who used to be the shaklee dealer.. there was also a brother who owned his own landscaping company and sold long distance phone plans.

  in fact, i remember 3 brothers who sold lond distance plans.. did anyone else experience these products or others?

  Greetings, all!

  I just had a random recall about JWs and what they used to peddle.

  In my area of Pennsylvania (USA), there was a brother who used to be the Shaklee dealer.

  There was also a brother who owned his own landscaping company and sold long distance phone plans. In fact, I remember 3 brothers who sold lond distance plans.

  Did anyone else experience these products or others? Just wondering.

  So, if I accessed ESPN during the meeting and they busted me, I would then have to show repentance? If I were given the password in the future and then accessed NASA's site, would they then pull me in to a judicial committee?

  Did leaving the "Org" ruin scary movies for you?

  many 'scary' movies base their 'jumps' on a belief in the supernatural, demons etc.

  since i have left that all behind, ther aren't many 'scary' movies that even make me uncomfortable let alone scared.

  Hey Jeanniebeanzz.

  Yes! After leaving the JWs, I lost my fear of demons, etc and, effectively, lost my fear in supernatural-type movies.

  With that said, violent movies which can reflect reality keep me on the edge of my seat.

  some were humble, but their were a few pompous asses who thought they were gods gift to the org and acted like they were ceo's of a fortune 500 company...

  I never liked any of them, to be honest: Dentler, Conti, Barnett, etc (Pennsylvania).

  They were the most arrogant, pompous and sarcastic people I have ever crossed paths with.

  Bad Association: what were your experiences with being labeled this as a young JW?

  i was labelled with limted and distasteful association after i was caught smoking pot at school with some of my friends ( i am not condoning drug taking as a teenager, drug experimentation if possible should be kept until after you have finished developing into adulthood) thanks and look forward to your stories........

  I was labeled as a womanizer because I was seen around the neighborhood with a girlfriend or three (I wasn't dating them at the same time...lol) during my inactive years between the ages of 14 to 17.

  The elder who labeled me as such was a presiding overseer and married. His name was Keith Monroe. I was 18 and had begun re-attending meetings and I was trying to make some new friends. I met three guys: Mike, Maurice and another guy. They all cut me off after just a couple of months because Keith Monroe told them I was a womanizer.

  I actually called him to confront the issue and he denied everything.

  I heard that he was still calling me a womanizer. I asked a presiding overseer from another congregation (David Kellum) to call Keith to ask him to stop. Again, he denied ever saying it, all the while looking down upon me...both he and his wife.

  About two months later, BREAKING NEWS: Keith Monroe bolted from his wife and ran off with a pioneer sister.

  I LMAO, literally. I bumped into Mrs. Monroe at a gas station and asked her, sarcastically,"How are things at home?". Her mouth dropped in shock and I gave her a half smile and walked off into the sunset.

  Counting time

  i may not have put this in the correct spot, but i do think it's scandalous the way time gets counted now.

  i've seen a cart at the edge of our farmer's market, never anyone close enough to talk.

  yesterday was a drizzly day and there were two carts set up, covered in plastic, "witnessing" on their own.

  This thread is quite long and I have read through lots of the responses but not all. So, I hope I'm not repeating what someone else may have already posted.

  Anyway, many used to count time after assemblies simply by wearing their badges to restaurants or malls.
