How many ways can a man romance a woman??

hi everyone.i just wanted to see if i could get some help here for a male friend of mine.

he is having a hard time with the romance deptartment.

i gave him a few ideas of my own but i thought if i threw the question out there maybe i could get him some views on how to romance a woman..... thanks for any sugggestions.

Many, many good suggestions. I learned a lot.

When she talks, actually listen.

Encourage her to persue her interests, dreams and goals - such are what life is made of.

When you find she wants something, remember it and buy it for her. Usually the inexpensive things are the most appreciated, especially if they are not easily obtainable. (For some reason, I rarely have problems finding such "rare" items; go figure.)

Help her appreciate herself and help her see her inner and outer beauty.

Baby her when she is sick. Blankets, a drink, a comfy bed or couch, rent her favorite movie. You would be amazed how many women feel bad when they have a headache or a migraine. Treat her as you would want to be treated, and tell her it is OK to be sick.

Appreciate her intelligence. Most men are initimidated by an intelligent woman, so this will make you stand out.

Most importantly, do everything from the heart. A gimmick or trick to win her over will not work long-term. What you do must be completely sincere and heartfelt.

i haven't been on this board for a while.

i've been on a conservative ezboard trying to see if we can't do something about political issues.

i've also got a new job, had to get the car fixed, been best man in a wedding, and watched the two towers on vhs.

Confusing Good Sex as Love

i will go for weeks, months, sometimes a year without sex.

then, if conditions are right and i am particulary attracted to a man, i will bed him.

if the lovin' is good, i might bed him again.

Both men and women can mistake sex for love. This especially can happen if the person's personality type is NF.

The best sex is making love to your soulmate; nothing can beat when the hearts, minds, souls, and bodies combine.

However, sex and love are different for many people, especially those with NT or SP personality traits.

Did You Feel Obliged To Do Business With The "Brothers"or Did You Not Care?

jw's are always in some business venture of one sort or another.

i knew of some in the congregation that didn't do business with brothers and sisters because they'd gotten burnt too many times.

i knew of others that felt obliged to buy something from fellow witnesses, especially elders.

But Skeptic, the Society's bigwigs are the ones that will use a JW over anyone else AND recieve FREE service and products.

Well, no wonder, since the price was right. Not to mention that if they are bigwigs, the service they get from the brothers will be top-notch. Why wouldn't they keep using JWs? Their advice about treating JW businesses like any other business is sound, even if they personally choose to use only JWs. In my case, I have only been blatantly ripped off a few times by JWs. Of the times I remember, it was incompetence, as I only selected that sister because she needed the money and I wanted to help a JW out. I quickly cancelled her services, and selected a worldly firm who gave me good service. Another time, I was ripped off by a sister for $1000. A brother would lie about when his work would be done; the actual time was three times what he told me. He did work hard most of the time though, and the finished product was breathtaking. When confronted about the lie, he simply admitted to it. And, of course, the JW brother who saved me tons of money....I mentioned him in my last reply. Xena, I am sorry to hear about your father. That is so tragic.

Well, at least here is an area we can't blame on the Society; except for the stupid "don't sue a brother" rule - which is in the Bible! They counsel JWs to treat JW businesses like any other, and to get everything in writing. I generally treated JW businesses like any other.

So let's be fair; many JWs are honest. My car have a broken and very siezed spark plug, and the estimates were $1000-$1500 because the a head had to be pulled and machined. A JW mechanic did the work for $375; the difference was he had access to a tool that could extract the spark plug - none of the other garages heard of the tool.

When I gave business to a Witness mainly because they were a Witness, the results were iffy. I have received bad service and good service from JWs, like any other businesses.

Every woman is different, though I tend to agree with Estee about most women not wanting an indecisive male. Some of it is perception though; what one woman would consider indecisive another would consider to be sensitive to her feelings. Both are probably right.

As far as indecisive goes, I have found that to be a characteristic of women as much or more than men.

Yes, but socialization and evolution allow for this. Traditionally, men have been the decision-makers, the providers and protectors. I am not saying this applies in all cases, or that this is necessarily right. However, it does mean that decisiveness is generally considered manly. It also means that indecisiveness in a woman is not undesirable; traditionally, the woman's role has been to support the male.

If a guy knows what he wants from the beginning, that may scare some women. That is dependent on what that "want" is. It would be nice to be completely honest and up front from first eye contact but I have never seen that happen nor is that first attraction solid enough to carry though to any thing more than a first sight attraction. The eventual introduction of things both unexpected and unwanted during the dating process can change everything.

I normally state my intentions upfront and I find that works for me. This does tend to scare some women, as they are used to guys hiding their intentions. I have been accused on this site of being a player simply because if I am considering a woman as a possible marriage mate, I state that upfront. With American women, I tell them the problems with falling for a Canadian as the immigration rules are heartbreaking. If this makes me a player, then so be it; I prefer to state my intentions upfront, so that she knows what she is dealing with. Some people think it is better to hide one's intentions, win her heart over, and then tell her the problems that come with an international romance and marriage. I think such people are cads. Each to their own, I guess.

So, if I am just having fun, seeking a lover, or am seeking a wife, the woman knows very quickly where I stand. I do this to minimize heartache, and because I don't play games. Fortunately, now I don't have to worry about such things, as I have found myself a very wonderful woman who I intend on spending the rest of my life with. And yeah, she knew my intentions upfront. And when those intentions changed (I fell in love with her), she was immediately told.

They can be pretty cool and awfully fun to be around, too. Just treat 'em like people and you'll quickly find out which they are.

I agree. I enjoy women's company much more than men's. This is due to a quirk of my childhood that made me able to talk to women easily. I have trouble talking to men, mainly because a good percentage feel they have to show me up somehow. I don't play those games.

And you're right: ""Few men do."...Women love it when they have the chance to be around a man who doesn't have those kinds of issues. Believe me.

I do believe you. I find that many men find women a mystery, and spend their time plotting how to get them or how to talk to them. Few men view women as their equals, and even fewer value a woman's intelligence. For me, an intelligent woman is very attractive; a dull-witted one does not hold my interest for long. Since many men are intimidated by an intelligent woman, this gives me a huge advantage over them.

One of the most fun places I could ever be is a room full of women....In that situation, most of the men I know would freeze up like a deer caught in the headlights and find a ballgame on TV as quick as they could. Me? I really hafta watch myself 'cause in a setting like that I'm like a little kid in a candy factory. -hee hee-

This is getting spooky. I tend to gravitate towards the kitchen in any gathering, as I love to be in a room full of women. For some reason, I enjoy women's conversations much more than men's. Most men look at me like I am strange to be in the kitchen with the ladies, but the women seem to enjoy it. As a bonus, I get to snitch some food!

There's lots of ways to get women going, but in case you don't know one, here's a tip: get 'em to talk about men. (That was a free tip. You'll have to pay for the rest.) If you're just a little bit clever, you can have a lot of fun with what comes out of that.

That sounds like fun! I will have to try that. Uh, what is your fee structure?

I agree. For some reason, most men are not interested in really talking to a woman. The book Emotional Intelligence explains why.

I love talking, just talking for hours. And cuddling for hours. For some reason, this is very rare, or so I am told.

Basically my reasoning about that is : you want her, take her … I’M OUT right now!

My thinking is similar. If a lady does not want me, she should move on. If she is coming on to every man in the room, how special am I? Somebody else can have the slut, I don't need her. There are a world of decent, good, loyal women. Why pick or stay with someone who is loose or plays games?

teejay, I wholeheartedly agree. I tend to be totally in awe of any woman I fall for. I found out the hard way that this turns women off for some reason. I think it scares them; some people are afraid of love, and I love very deeply. So, now I try to reign it in, or temper it more.
