remember the bible is a whole host of books put together as one by different people than the writers.. did the actual writers cliam their books were inspired by god?.

Some did cliam to have visions from God, but did they claim the books themselves were from God?
I cant think of any refrence outside of Timothy that actually says this book (individual books not whole Bible) is from God.

Luke for example doesn't seam to think he was, he just says he was writing the history of Jesus and apostales.If he believed God was directing him why does he fail to mention it?

2.Not mentioned once by Christian writers of new testament.(if it was such a central part of christian teching why isn't it plastered all over the new testament?)
Maybe its because ,theres no such prophecy.

cor, you don't hear a peep from them for months , then they all come at once.. this morning two witnesses called to see hoow we were, just had a very brief chat.. then this afternoon one of the elders calls.. he thought i hadn't come to the meeting because i had marriage problems.when i told him the real reason he had a bit of a shock.. couln't explain much though as he is one of the "does it really matter?

Leander, I would say at a guess that maybe 80 out of 100 in a cong don't realy understand much about what they "believe".
They just trust that its the truth, so do many who stop going.
When I mentioned 607 and the fall of Jerusalem, when telling a friend why I had stoped going to the hall he didn't even know what I was talking about.
Didn't stop him shunning me.

summer is nearly upon us and it would be great to arrange a 'get together' (wt speak) sometime so that some of us could meet up.
i thought i'd give plenty warning so that we can arrange something and get suggestions for venue etc .... i was thinking of a nice hotel (with a pool if pos) and nearby to somewhere suitable for a family day out.. people could just go for the day or stop for a weekend as they preferred and we could do things as families during the day and then have a meal in the evening, have a few beers etc .... we're near manchester but don't mind travelling for a couple of hours or so (we have 2 small kids) - in fact, it would be nice to go somewhere like wales, the lake district, the peak district ... you get the idea (just away from the cobbled streets and slums).. if anyone has any ideas or suggestions then let us have them!.
oh, and forget you're british!!!
