omg, they just came to my door. i just froze and was silent and didnt answer till they left..
uggh, i gotta go to meeting this afternoon to get them off my back. i guess ill just tell them im to busy and keep putting it off till they give up.

this person is kind of answering his/her own questions while simultaneously spewing the drivel theyve been indoctrinated with. they are looking at your website, and watched the nbc special, no very big no-nos.
i kinda think this person is doubting, but is so terrified by that doubt they are lashing out in fear and desperation. in the twilight hours before a person finally really wakes up they take one step forward in trepidation (like visiting your site) and then two steps back clinging to what is familiar. 'the devil you know...'
i hope this person finds their way, the truth about the "truth" is what they already suspect.
i hope they find their way here.

Old out-of-touch JWs using antiquated terms

last week we had a speaker ramble on for fully 1/3, maybe 1/2, of his 30 minute talk on the evils of "rap music".. i don't believe the term "rap music" has been uttered by anyone under the age of 40 for at least 20-25 years.. this week we got another "older gentleman" warning us about the pervasive dangers of "internet chat rooms".. again - didn't "chat rooms" die out about the same time as dialing up to connect to aol?.

I havent prayed in years (since witnessing something gutwrenching and horrific). not sure of anythng regarding dieties anymore. Since 2005, ive thought if there is a god or higher power/entity of any kind, it doesnt give 2 s**ts about us.

"this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.".
this is the entire purpose of going door to door.

YES! The masterbation video is a perfect example of the point I'm trying to make.
The org is really putting forth effort to look normal and mainstream to the public (see the spin in the FAQ section of jw.org) and not like the type of society that maintains such a tight grip (hee hee) on its members (hee hee. sorry cant resist) that it commands them not to even masterbate.
It also doesnt want the public to see:
1. The way it describes non-members (worldly people)
2. The way members are forbidden to associate with non-members
3. The judicial process and subsequent shunning that occurs when members associate with non-members
All contained in the drama.
Because the public (unlike the members) can tell right away it's bat s**t crazy.
AND after noticing how bats**t crazy it is, they are highly likely to post unflattering comments on it. And we all know how well they respond to critiscism...

Soooo many. Too hard to pick just one...
The thing with the blood doctrine that I dont get is there seems to be no real motive with it. Everything else you can put your finger on something they get out of it (like the FDS teaching = more power for they GB) but if they dropped the blood issue they would stand to lose nothing, doesnt effect them...so why stick to it?
